Santa ordered too much coal for the Naughty List. He calls Doug to reroute it to a powerplant, so there is lots of electricity for the new toys at Christmas. Video made for my little grandkids by Papa Choo Choo. I hope everyone enjoys it. Merry Christmas.
The Norfolk & Western Railway (N&W) historically held extensive running rights in Ontario, inherited from the Wabash Railroad in the 1960s. These rights allowed N&W and its successor, Norfolk Southern (NS), to operate trains on Canadian National (CN) tracks across southern Ontario, including through the current Norfolk County, until they were largely relinquished in late 2006. Historical Context of Running Rights Original Acquisition: The Wabash Railroad was granted trackage rights in 1898 to use the former Great Western Railroad's "Canada Air Line" between Windsor, Fort Erie, and Niagara Falls, Ontario. N&W Control: Norfolk & Western leased the Wabash Railroad in 1964 and officially took control of its operations in 1970, thereby acquiring these running rights. Route Details: The N&W (and later NS) operated trains with its own crews over the CN's Cayuga Subdivision (the former Great Western route) from Fort Erie to St. Thomas, and then west to Windsor. This route passed directly through communities in Norfolk County such as Courtland, Delhi, Nixon, and Simcoe. Ferry and Tunnel Operations: N&W initially used a ferry service across the Detroit River but switched to using the Detroit-Windsor railroad tunnel for all Canadian traffic in 1994. Cessation: Norfolk Southern's main running rights across southern Ontario officially ended on December 31, 2006, due to a loss of traffic and changes in operations. A small remnant of interchange traffic at Fort Erie continued for a few more years, but the primary cross-Ontario operation ceased.

In my last #freightcarfriday @StormySkyRailProductions post. I showed my photos of the vintage CASCO Corn Starch cars #33&36 in Tillsonburg Ont. Today at the Woodstock Trainshow, I found #39 in HO Scale. Amongst the silly amount of stuff I picked up.
One of my first comments on the channel was at 19 subs. The comment: " You got 19 subscribers, good luck with that." It may be just 700+ subscribers. But not too many YouTubers know their subscribers' names, where they are, and how they are in the hobby. Or not in the hobby. I have made some great friends through YouTube and plan to continue. So thank you to whoever left that comment. Without you. Maybe none of this would have happened.
