Moxie is a curious, creative, and imaginative 3-year-old puppet who loves stickers, stories, and making new friends! She helps little learners explore big feelings, ask big questions about Jesus, and discover the joy of learning through pretend play, imagination, and heart.

Our show supports social-emotional learning, helping preschoolers (ages 3–6) build confidence, express emotions, and practice kindness—all while gently introducing early concepts like letters, numbers, and motor skills.

The Moxie and Me Show

🌱 Social-Emotional Learning Tip for Parents & Teachers 🌱

Jesus showed us that discipline is meant to teach, not shame. He corrected with love, patience, and truth — always restoring relationship and guiding hearts back to what is right. That same approach helps children learn emotional regulation, respect, and responsibility in a safe and loving way.

When discipline is rooted in love, children don’t just change behavior — they grow in character.

At The Learning Boutique, we believe Jesus is the Master Teacher, and His example shapes how we guide little hearts every day. 💛

🌱 Social Emotional Learning Tip for Parents & Teachers 🌱

Children feel safest when they know what to expect — but life (and faith) sometimes invite us to adjust the plan.

Jesus showed us that love, obedience, and listening to God may require changing routines. When we model calm flexibility, we teach children that changes aren’t something to fear — they’re opportunities to trust.

Allowing room for change in our schedules helps us listen to the Holy Spirit and respond with obedience.

✨ Behind the scenes at The Learning Boutique! ✨

Check out today’s prep:
💛 A heart-covered dress for Moxie
🎀 Thread + bows for a sweet hairband
💖 Individually packaged make-your-own kindness necklace kits

All of this is getting ready for our live puppet performance events — special celebrations of heart skills designed for classrooms, home visits, and community events.

These events aren’t just for kids — adults can participate too! Sometimes the best way to support children is to be a kid again alongside them.

Through hands-on activities, music with movement, and playful games, children and adults alike will practice kindness, empathy, and connection — shining their light in the world.

As Jesus said:
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16

We can’t wait to celebrate heart skills and spread joy throughout our communities. More details coming soon! 💫

✨ SEL Tip for Parents & Teachers: Learning Beyond Human Expectations ✨

Jesus modeled something powerful for both children and adults — we are not meant to live by human expectations, approval, or performance.

In His teaching, Jesus showed us identity before behavior. He reminded us that we are Salt and Light — called to preserve truth and shine clearly, not to impress crowds or meet shifting standards.

When children feel pressure to “be good,” “get it right,” or “fit in,” they often disconnect from their emotions and their values. Jesus modeled another way: pause, listen, respond with love, and stay rooted in truth — even when it wasn’t popular.

🧠 SEL Takeaway:
When adults choose integrity over approval and obedience over performance, children learn emotional safety, self-regulation, and confidence in who they are — not just what they do.

✨ Jesus is the Master Teacher — and His example gives us a framework for raising emotionally healthy, grounded children.

SEL Tip for Parents & Teachers: Teaching Belonging

One of the most powerful social-emotional lessons we can model comes from Jesus’ example of belonging.

He welcomed children, noticed the unseen, and invited people into relationship before addressing behavior or change.

In learning spaces, this means:
• Separating behavior from identity
• Seeing the child before correcting the action
• Creating environments where every child feels safe, seen, and valued

When children know they belong, their hearts open—and learning follows.

At The Learning Boutique, we believe heart skills matter just as much as academic skills, and belonging is the foundation of both.

SEL Tip for Parents & Teachers: Teaching Honesty 🤍

Jesus taught that honesty begins with clarity and integrity, not fear.

📖 “Let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’” — Matthew 5:37

For children, honesty grows when adults respond with calm guidance instead of shame. When kids feel safe telling the truth, they learn responsibility, trust, and self-regulation — key social-emotional skills that last a lifetime.

✨ How to support honesty in early learners:

Respond calmly when a child tells the truth, even about a mistake

Model honesty in your own words and actions

Encourage truth-telling more than rule-following

Help children repair mistakes instead of hiding them

Jesus showed us that truth and love go hand in hand. When we lead with patience and grace, we teach children that honesty isn’t about fear — it’s about relationship, responsibility, and growth.

In this SEL tip from The Learning Boutique, we share how modeling honesty, responding with grace, and focusing on repair (not punishment) helps children develop strong character and emotional safety.

Truth taught with love builds confident learners and compassionate hearts.
