Higher education institutions host large numbers of young people, underscoring the importance of addressing students' sexual and reproductive health (#SRH) needs and the challenges they face.
Today, together with the #Ministry_of_Health, we convene student leaders serving as peer champions and coordinators to strengthen campus-based SRH interventions. Their leadership is instrumental in connecting students to accurate information, quality services, and peer support.
The discussion explores students' experiences and SRH needs, the barriers that hinder access to SRH services, the factors influencing care-seeking behaviours, and the sources of SRH information and support that students rely on within their universities and institutions.

Ahead of International Men’s Day this November, we convened a Male Engagement Meeting as a key step in advancing Sexual & Reproductive Health #SRH. The meeting reviewed progress on finalizing the Male Engagement Strategy and reaffirmed the critical role men play as family influencers, clients, partners, and community change agents.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Mugahi Richard emphasized the importance of leveraging digital platforms like Zoom to engage men in #SRH conversations widely. He noted, “In districts facing high teenage pregnancies, it is crucial to involve males in addressing this issue."

Today, the Tobacco Industry Monitoring (TIM) TEAM, hosted by HEPS Uganda in partnership with the Tobacco Control Secretariat, Ministry of Health - Uganda, convened a town hall meeting to formally sign the declaration of no conflict of interest with the tobacco industry.
This significant step reinforces Uganda’s commitment to the WHO FCTC Article 5.3, establishing a clear boundary between public health policy and tobacco industry interference. Led by Ngobi Aggrey, the chairperson of the Uganda National Tobacco Control Committee (UNTTC), this signing marks a victory for transparency, ethics, and the protection of future generations.

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance immunization coverage in Kiboga district.
HEPS Uganda, together with a team of health workers from EPI Health Centre II, Kapeke sub-county, conducted an integrated immunization outreach at Kirinda trading centre.
The outreach, supported by the Leave No One Behind project, aims to reduce the number of zero-dose and under-immunized children in the community.
During the outreach, the Health Centre In-Charge, Juliet, emphasized the importance of completing the full immunization schedule for children, highlighting the need to prevent outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases.
She expressed concern over the low turnout for the third and fourth doses of #malaria vaccines and the second dose of #measles vaccine, urging mothers to ensure their children receive all necessary doses to build immunity.
The #LENOBI_PROJECT, #MOH_UNEPI continue to intensify community sensitization efforts to increase immunization service uptake, protect children from vaccine-preventable diseases, and promote awareness and mobilize parents to take advantage of vaccination services, including integration of services such as ANC and family planning.
