runway at 52. 😂
When I was asked to walk in the launch of Kareena’s Closet, I realized I had never walked a runway before.
Which, naturally, seemed like a perfectly good reason to say yes.
And somewhere between real estate, video production, Queens Curated, drumming, events, dating, college applications and single motherhood… apparently there was room for this too. 😂
The funny thing is, I didn’t do it because it was going to lead somewhere. I didn’t do it because it made sense for my career or because it was part of some bigger plan.
I did it because I’d never done it before. And because it sounded fun.
And this was a particularly beautiful night to do it.
Kareena’s Closet is a peer-to-peer and designer-direct rental and resale platform for South Asian fashion, and this was the brand’s official launch—with a cause at the heart of the evening. The event was held in partnership with Sakhi for South Asian Survivors and doubled as a fundraiser supporting their work.
There was fashion, art, food, cocktails, community—and, apparently, me walking a runway for the first time. 😂
Maybe that’s what I want more of in this chapter of my life.
Doing things because I’m curious.
Because they sound interesting.
Because they might make a good story.
Because they make me laugh.
Or simply because I can.
At 52, I’m realizing that “I’ve never done that before” isn’t a reason not to do something.
Sometimes it’s the best reason to do it. ❤️
Life is happening right now. Participate in it.

Sometimes the best memories begin with an unexpected yes.
I almost skipped the beach that day. In fact, I had already posted about staying home.
Instead, one phone call from my high school best friend led to a wild beach, new people, paddleboarding for the first time, BBQ shrimp, and an evening with my son on an almost empty beach, peeling sunflower seeds, watching the waves, and talking until midnight.
The older I get, the more I realize that whether it's moving across the world, buying a home, or simply saying yes to a spontaneous adventure, life is made up of transitions.
The places matter, but it's the people we share them with who make them feel like home. ❤️
