📢 New Terrain Rules for Horus Heresy 3.0 – SN Studio House Rules PDF Now Live!

Over countless games here at the SN Studio, we’ve had an absolute blast diving into 3rd Edition Horus Heresy, but we also noticed a few clunky interactions and “feel bad” moments when it comes to terrain.

While we don’t think the current terrain rules are bad, we do believe they can be improved to promote more immersive and balanced gameplay. So rather than ignoring certain terrain types altogether, we’ve created a set of modified rules to ensure all terrain sees play and adds to the narrative richness of the battlefield.

What’s the changes:
• Streamlined terrain interactions
• Fixes for unintuitive moments
• Encouragement for using a wider range of terrain types
• Fully playtested across dozens of studio games

This is a living document, shaped by community feedback and our own experiences in the trenches. We’ll keep updating it as the game evolves and more data comes in.

After 6 intense weeks of non-stop recording, editing, painting, building, and learning, the team is taking a short (and very needed) break from recording on camera this week. But don’t worry, we’re not putting our feet up entirely! We’ll be using this time to rest a bit and catch up on all the behind-the-scenes admin and planning that’s been piling up.

As many of you know, we’ve been selling limited edition #FuckPardo t-shirts (don’t worry, he’s taken it like a champ 👊🏽) and now it’s time to put the proceeds to good use.

Thanks to your support, we’ve raised £300 (60 t-shirts sold) which we’ll be donating to a charity chosen by YOU, the SN community. Below are five amazing UK and Gib based mental health and anti-bullying charities. Each one does brilliant work, and we’d love your input on where the funds should go.

MIND – One of the UK’s leading mental health charities, providing advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.

CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) – Focused on suicide prevention, especially among men, with a 24/7 helpline and high-impact awareness campaigns.

YoungMinds – Supporting young people and families struggling with mental health challenges, while campaigning for better mental health services for youth.

Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) – Working to reduce bullying across schools and communities, and running national programmes like Anti-Bullying Week.

GibSams – A suicide prevention and emotional support charity based in Gibraltar, offering a confidential listening service to those in distress.
