New video incoming Friday <3 This one has taken a little longer, due to its length. I'm covering the embroideries that I've been working on for half a year now. I'm really proud of them, and I'm really proud of how this video is shaping up! Can't wait to share it with you!
2025 was a slower year for me, at least in physical output. I did five photoshoots, almost all in the first half of the year, and only fully made one new costume. Even so, the year felt packed.
Our first shoot was in January, in Cripple Creek, Colorado. We shot at the Ice Castles in mere 15 degree F weather, with flurries of snow keeping us cold and wet. Despite this, the atmosphere was jovial, and we were surrounded at all times by children in parkas enjoying the weather. Even with our blue fingers and running nose, how could we not enjoy this atmosphere? The photos turned out just as ice cold, but I think of that trip very warmly.
Our second shoot was in February, at Miramonte Caste in Colorado Springs. It was my first time there! What a beautiful historic building, full of Old World charm. We were comfortable inside for once and we finished the day with tea and dim sum.
Our third shoot was at the Painted Mines in March. What a breathtaking location! The exposed rocks are orange and pink, and they look astonishing against a blue Colorado sky. We got exceptionally muddy.
Our fourth shoot was in Grand lake, Colorado. This was the first shoot that I got to bring my parents along to! We had to schedule it around our mountain's summer thunderstorms. We managed to find a location quiet enough to shoot on and stay dry - somehow. The wildflowers were out in full force, and I'll always remember the valleys we hiked through, carpeted in purple and yellow.
Our fifth and final shoot was an indoor location shoot in September, at a studio called the Glass House. This sumptuous location was a perfect set to shoot the only new finished costume this year. The day was cool and brisk, but inside that humid green house we definitely steamed a little! It was very special because we got to shoot with a dear friend, visiting Colorado for a few weeks.
