What a beautiful celestial event! 🌙

The total lunar eclipse of September 7–8, 2025, was a spectacular "Blood Moon" (Chandra Grahan in India) visible across India and much of the world. It was one of the longest lunar eclipses in a decade, with the totality phase lasting 82 minutes.

✨ What was it?
A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes directly between the sun and the moon, casting its shadow onto the lunar surface. During this alignment, Earth's shadow obscures the moon, and the moon turns a striking red or copper color—earning it the name Blood Moon.

🌑 The "Blood Moon" effect:
The reddish glow happens because sunlight filters through Earth's atmosphere. Shorter blue wavelengths scatter, while longer red wavelengths bend and project onto the moon, giving it that deep, coppery hue.

⏳ Timeline in India (IST):
Penumbral phase began: 8:58 PM, September 7
Total eclipse phase: 11:00 PM, September 7 – 12:22 AM, September 8
Entire event was visible across India.

Unlike a solar eclipse, this lunar eclipse is perfectly safe to watch with the naked eye, binoculars, or a telescope.
