Part A – Balance Sheet Questions

A company started its business with cash of Rs. 500,000 invested by the owner. Record this in the balance sheet.

The company purchased furniture worth Rs. 200,000 on credit. Show the effect on assets and liabilities.

Machinery of Rs. 300,000 was purchased; 50% was paid in cash and the rest on credit. Prepare the updated balance sheet.

At year-end, assets = Rs. 1,200,000 and liabilities = Rs. 450,000. Find the owner’s equity.

If Accounts Receivable = Rs. 250,000, Cash = Rs. 100,000, Inventory = Rs. 150,000, Accounts Payable = Rs. 200,000, Loan = Rs. 100,000 β†’ Prepare a classified balance sheet.

Part B – Income Statement Questions

Sales revenue = Rs. 800,000, Cost of Goods Sold = Rs. 500,000, Operating Expenses = Rs. 120,000. Prepare an income statement up to net income.

A company earned service revenue of Rs. 300,000. Salaries expense = Rs. 80,000, Rent expense = Rs. 40,000, Utility expense = Rs. 10,000. Find net profit.

Sales = Rs. 1,000,000, Returns = Rs. 50,000, Discounts = Rs. 20,000. Net Sales? (Prepare partial income statement).

Gross Profit Margin = 40%. If Net Sales = Rs. 500,000, calculate Gross Profit and COGS.

A company has Net Sales = Rs. 700,000, COGS = Rs. 400,000, Operating Expenses = Rs. 150,000, Interest Expense = Rs. 20,000, Tax Expense = Rs. 30,000. Prepare full income statement.

Part C – Mixed / Analytical

Explain how depreciation affects both the balance sheet and the income statement.

If a company has more liabilities than assets, what does it mean for owner’s equity?

Why is "Accounts Receivable" shown in Balance Sheet but "Sales Revenue" in Income Statement?

Differentiate between Capital Expenditure (Balance Sheet item) and Revenue Expenditure (Income Statement item) with examples.

Prepare a Balance Sheet and Income Statement from the following:

Cash = Rs. 100,000

Accounts Receivable = Rs. 80,000

Inventory = Rs. 120,000

Furniture = Rs. 50,000

Accounts Payable = Rs. 70,000

Loan Payable = Rs. 100,000

Owner’s Capital = ?

Sales = Rs. 500,000
