A blog of a 58 year old Grandmother and her husband Keith raising 2 Grandchildren . These videos started when we lived at our Tiny House near the Copano Bay . We have since taken the leap to Grayling Michigan . There are a lot of vlogs out their of retirement age folks like us that I enjoy watching , but not many on folks who are raising grandkids . Too bad , because I would watch them ! So I have decided to document our journey as a way of reaching out and telling our story . If you manage to glean any bit of wisdom from it or a chuckle or a oh isn't that pretty , well then , I have done a good job . Take care my video virtual pen pals .

My oldest daughter took these photos of course years ago . When families are going through difficult times people rarely know the whole story . Often people only get one side of something that can be multifaceted . My family's story is like that as , I am sure , are many families . A doctor told us in the last year or so we have what is called generational family trauma . I had a uncle who everyone always thought was lost to drugs ( which he was ) but now I wonder if mental illness didn't play a large part . I love all of my children and grandchildren even though I am estranged from one of my daughters . I love my extended children and grandchildren as well . I want more than anything to have a happy healthy family , but that is a bigger harder goal than I ever imagined it would be . Life throws some hard stuff at all of us . That being said I will continue to do the best I can and I want you to know I think about all of you as well . I know you too have triumphs and struggles . I pray for the little kid in all of us ❤️

There is a Riverwalk in Bastrop Texas that started doing a trail of lights for the holiday season back when my youngest daughter (in the first and second picture) was little . It has grown like my daughter and now she and her husband are taking my granddaughters for the walk . It brings a tear to my eye . Hopefully in a couple years I can do that walk with them . At least once ! Happy Holidays everyone !

You all hear me talk about going to Dad's house to help out . Recently he and I picked up my youngest sister and her daughter for Thanksgiving . Well I found out she has some pictures that I have never seen . So I thought I would share what my Old Dad looked like back in the day . I thought he was SO cool when I was little . I know , I know . How much snow can you look at and still get excited ?! Well there is just something about the wonder of nature that gets me . Like those tiny chickadees that thrive in this weather . And the pictures of these trees with a pile of snow on them , I kind of think it looks like hands . But it all definitely looks like art . It will lose its appeal to me in a few months but for now it's all new again . Enjoy your day 👋

This guy was so close to the fence people were sticking their fingers in trying to touch his antler . I don't think he could have cared less . This is actually a viewing area I hadn't been to before . But the same sanctuary in Gaylord Michigan .

We have grandchildren from age 18 on down . I have always enjoyed Halloween . However I no longer feel the need to decorate . I have my reasons ! 🤣 . But I do love knowing our children and grandchildren are enjoying my favorite holiday . I hope you and yours enjoyed it as well !

I went out early this evening Intent on getting a fall video, and I was too late at 6 pm . Too many shadows . It is 7:20 pm and very dark already . That is what I get for insisting on watching the end of a really bad scary movie . So I am instead using some of the pictures that my husband is so good at taking . I believe we must be just past peak colors . I cannot believe it's snowing in Canada 😫. I don't think I am ready !
