💙 💬 “I was in an unbearable situation. I have had counselling through my doctor, I was in a group and then 1:1. It was ok but I was afraid to share my true story incase it came out. I came across Claire and was a lurker for a few years. I never got her but found myself being drawn back to her page.
I took the plunge and booked a session. Finally I could share in private without the fear of any information been disclosed or written down.
I took an even bigger step by booking a block of sessions for counselling. It was a great move for me. The weight of years and years of trauma was lifting as the words left my mouth. Did I have fear ? yes, but that was normal as Claire said. I worked through the years and released what I have been carrying. I felt lighter and lighter. I finally had the courage and strength to start a new life. Fast forward 18 months later I was still getting anxiety about speaking up but no where near as bad before I started therapy.
