In today’s food review, I visited a brand-new Indian takeaway in Sunderland called Aliza’s, which opened its doors in March — and honestly, this place has something truly special.

What really touched me during my visit was the incredible bond between the owner and his head chef. The owner is just 28 years old, but the heart of the kitchen is his grandfather, a chef with 32 years of experience.
While filming, I witnessed a heartwarming moment where the grandson hugged his grandfather and paid full respect to him, saying “He’s the captain of this ship.” Moments like this are what make food reviews meaningful — it’s not just about the food, but the people and stories behind it.

Of course, the food itself didn’t disappoint! I tried their Railway Chilli Curry, packed with flavour and heat, and one of their special naan breads, which paired perfectly with the dish. Aliza’s is definitely a spot to watch in Sunderland — great food, great people, and a beautiful family story behind it.
