Thama Movie Review
⭐⭐🌗 (2.5/5)
Set to release during Diwali, Thama brings together Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in a supernatural love story steeped in vampire lore and dark myth—marking a bold shift for the Maddock Films’ cinematic universe.
The film opens promisingly with haunting visuals and the unusual pairing of romance with horror. Ayushmann plays Alok, a historian chasing the roots of vampirism, while Rashmika’s Tadaka adds a fierce edge.
The teaser’s spooky tone and glimpses of Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a villainous avatar created early buzz.
However, though the concept is intriguing, the execution feels uneven. The screenplay struggles to blend horror, romance and myth consistently, leading to moments that entertain but fail to deeply resonate. Visuals and performances stand out while emotional depth and narrative tightness falter.
Verdict:- A visually slick experiment with heart, Thama attempts to expand its universe—but ends up a mixed bag, worth watching for its style but falling short on substance.

🎬 Mithra Mandali Movie Review
2.5/5 ⭐⭐🌟
Mithra Mandali is an emotional tale that attempts to blend friendship, trust, and the darker sides of human nature. The story revolves around a close group of friends who share dreams and laughter but are slowly torn apart by ambition, betrayal, and misunderstandings. The director aims to showcase how time and circumstances test the strength of bonds, and while the core idea is powerful, the execution feels inconsistent.
The first half is engaging with light-hearted moments, showcasing the warmth of friendship and nostalgia. However, as the story transitions into its emotional second half, the narrative loses grip. The pacing becomes uneven, and certain scenes feel stretched. Performances by the lead cast are earnest — they bring life to their characters even when the script falters. The cinematography captures rural beauty and emotional intensity well, while the background score adds some depth.
Overall, Mithra Mandali has the heart of a soulful story but struggles to translate it into a gripping cinematic experience. It’s a film that connects emotionally in parts but doesn’t leave a lasting impact like Kantara Chapter 1.
Verdict: A sincere but uneven portrayal of friendship and human flaws.

Kantara: Chapter 1 Movie Review
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)
Kantara: Chapter 1 is a grand prequel that takes us back centuries, deep into the origins of the legend introduced in the first film. Set during the Kadamba dynasty, it explores the roots of the Bhuta Kola ritual and the spiritual connection between humans, nature, and divine protectors. Rishab Shetty shines as the chosen warrior, embodying faith, strength, and sacrifice, as he rises to defend his tribe against the ruthless Prince Kulashekara.
The film masterfully blends folklore, mysticism, and raw human conflict. The first half builds the world with rituals, royal politics, and tribal traditions, moving slowly but with purpose. The second half bursts with energy, offering breathtaking battle sequences, emotional depth, and spine-chilling divine moments that deliver goosebumps. Rukmini Vasanth as Princess Kanakavathi adds grace, while Gulshan Devaiah impresses as the antagonist.
Visually, Kantara: Chapter 1 is a spectacle — with lush cinematography, authentic set designs, and Ajaneesh Loknath’s powerful score elevating the intensity of each scene.
Verdict: This is not just a film but a cultural experience, deeply rooted in traditions and faith. Despite a slightly stretched first half, the film triumphs in spirit, visuals, and storytelling. A must-watch on the big screen!
