I was diagnosed with metastatic papillary thyroid cancer..
But I’m going to be ok!

Hello friends! I hope all of you are doing great this evening! I’ll have a fresh video for you next week, but meanwhile, my husband and I are spending our Saturday night making apple butter together!
It’s going to be good!

We were listening to songs from our favorites playlist and this one popped up.

I think what struck me most about this song was the accompanying video.

It showed a former life and then- left neglected, the decay.

I just spent the last 30 minutes outside, foraging for some beautiful fall elements to put on our daughter-in-law’s birthday cake.💕
I found such pretty things!
Cedar boughs, persimmons, Gomphrena flowers, and one last hydrangea-
The cake is chocolate with homemade peach and strawberry jam between the layers and a delicious Italian buttercream icing. (Our new favorite.)
We’re celebrating two birthdays this weekend, our son Nate’s is on Sunday.

I hope whatever you’re doing this weekend, you stop and look around at the beautiful way the light filters through the trees, smell the clean fresh air, and appreciate the fact that you are alive to see it all.

Hello, Kindred Spirits,

I wanted to take a moment to thank those of you who have reached out to check on me or send kind words. Your messages have meant so much.

Right now, I’m still in a bit of a waiting season, gathering test results, researching doctors, and deciding on the best course of action. I’m so grateful for my husband’s steady, analytical mind; he’s been studying and helping me navigate everything with such care.

I’ve stepped back from YouTube a bit longer than I intended, but I’ve been trying to remove as much stress from my life as possible during this time—and as much as I love creating videos, it can sometimes be a little stressful too.

The doctor gave a diagnosis of the “C” word, but I’m choosing not to name it or claim it. Instead, I’m focusing on healing in the gentlest way I can, with minimal harm to my body and mind.

I will get better, that’s a certainty. And strangely enough, I’ve come to see this as a gift. Sometimes it takes a hard wake-up call to make real changes, and I’m embracing those changes wholeheartedly.

Thank you all for your kindness, patience, and prayers. You’ve touched my heart more than you know.

Hello Kindred Spirits,
I’ve been thinking of you, and I hope this note finds you well.

Yesterday, I received a very unexpected and scary health diagnosis. My mind has been swirling with the possibilities, and I’m prayerfully exploring every option for treatment.

To find clarity and peace, I’ll be stepping away for a 21-day fast from social media, from food, and from outside noise, so that I can pray and listen deeply for direction. During this time, I’ll be seeking answers for my treatment, and I’ll be lifting you up in prayer as well.

Please know that I will be okay, and I am so deeply grateful for each of you.

If all goes as I hope, I’ll be back in time to share another cozy, autumnal video with you. 🍂
