Bravo Music, established in 1999, serves as a portal to the greater Western music world, working closely with music education associations, publishers, and leading bands and conductors in the Americas and Europe. The independent evolution of great wind band programs in Japan and the West has been significantly demystified through the efforts of Bravo Music, helping to bring Japanese bands and composers into the mainstream of Western awareness. Aside from sharing thousands of available publications and recordings, Bravo Music has coordinated hundreds of musical exchanges in and out of Japan for groups ranging from secondary school age to command-level military bands. “Connecting through music” has indeed been the core of Bravo Music’s operation.

On October 27th, we celebrate Niccolò Paganini! The legendary virtuoso was so brilliant, people swore he sold his soul for his technique!
We're featuring Variations on a Theme of Paganini - Flexible Woodwind Octet, a dynamic original composition by Japanese composer Hiroaki Kataoka!
Kataoka-sensei takes the iconic Caprice No. 24 theme and uses it as the foundation for a dazzling, modern work that is pure virtuosity. It demands the same intensity as Paganini, but tailored for a woodwind octet.

To honor the master, we're spotlighting a piece that delivers all the passion and fire of Carmen's greatest hits: Carmen Fantasy - Flexible Octet!
This octet arrangement is designed for flexibility, allowing it to adapt to various woodwind and brass combinations.
This arrangement is built around two exciting ideas: "Gypsy's Dance" returns after every song, escalating to a new climax, and fragments of "Torero (Bullfighter)" grow stronger throughout the piece, culminating in a skyrocketing intensity by the end. Plus, listen for the "Habanera" and "Seguidilla" in the bridge.

Happy Birthday to the master of Italian opera, Giuseppe Verdi! His works are full of drama, passion, and some of the most memorable melodies ever written.
Verdi Opera Fantasy for Wind Band was written to celebrate the 200th birth year of the opera king, Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901).
Sawako Yamazato selected melodies from three famous operas: Triumphal March from Aida, Anvil Chorus from Il Trovatore, Gypsy Chorus and Prelude from La Traviata, and again Triumphal March. She arranged it for young bands while preserving the original feel. It’s a good piece for musical training and development, as a wide range of audiences can also enjoy Verdi's music.
