There is a beautiful verse at the beginning of the section about the Proverbs 31 woman. It is simple but a profound understanding.
”She shall seek wool and flax, And with delight she works with her hands.“
Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 31:13 TS2009
The picture is of a woman who is seeking the good ingredients to build garments, wool and flax (linen). These are wholesome ingredients. Then she is taking delight in crafting and building with her hands. There is a theme throughout scripture that what you do for your work is a pleasure. That is why we are told to not do our own pleasures (works) on the sabbath day but instead focus on witnessing and glorifying all that YHVH has done.
How can we delight in our work? I’m sure that I’m not the only one that feels the drudgery of repetitive tasks and the burden of endless to do lists. I’m sure those of you with young children or large families fully understand that feeling of NOT delighting in the tasks in front of you. Especially, the repetitive ones like laundry and dishes that never seem to end. We can get stuck in a bit of negativity about it, let’s be honest.
I think the key to delighting in tasks we may not want to do is always gratitude and worship. When you are feeling too busy take a moment and be grateful that you have a family to care for. When you are tired, being grateful that you have a strong healthy body that carried you throughout your day. There is always something you can show gratitude for. As you focus on those things, your awareness of them will increase.
Often we feel that our mundane daily tasks are meaningless but we can use them as a greater practice of worship and praise. Put on worship music as you clean or sort papers. Practice gratitude as you pay your bills. Make the daily tasks with your children like bed and bath time a game. Enter in to these things to make them spiritual instead of mundane.
We can look at our daily work with our hands as mundane and purposeless or we can see it as the greatest gift to be able to weave the cloth of our future together with YHVH. He can breathe life into the simple tasks and bless them. The little things add up and create the life we can look back on with joy.
How will you add more delight into your daily tasks today? Are you willing to delight in them? Let us know.
THE PERSONAL MESSAGE OF CHRISTMAS by Charles Spurgeon ( 1834-1892)
"We have no superstitious regard for times and seasons. Certainly we do not believe in the present ecclesiastical arrangement called Christmas. First, because we do not believe in any mass at all, but abhor it whether it be sung in Latin or in English. Secondly, because we find no Scriptural warrant whatever for observing any day as the birthday of the Saviour; and consequently, it's observance is a superstition, because not of divine authority. Superstition has fixed most positively the day of our Saviour's birth, although there is no possibility of discovering when it occurred. It was not till the middle of the third century that any part of the Church celebrated the birth of our Lord; and it was not till long after the western Church had set the example, that the eastern adopted it. Because the day is not known, probably the fact is that the "holy" days were arranged to fit in with the heathen festivals. We venture to assert that if there be any day in the year of which we may be pretty sure that it was not the day on which our Saviour was born, it is the 25th of December. Regarding not the day, let us give God thanks for the gift of His dear Son.
How absurd to think we could do it in the spirit of the world, with a Jack Frost clown, a deceptive worldly Santa Claus, and a mixed program of sacred truth with fun, deception and fiction. If it be possible to honor Christ in the giving of gifts, I cannot see how while the gift, giver, and recipient are all in the spirit of the world. The Catholics and high Church Episcopalians may have their Christmas one day in 365, but we have a Christ gift the entire year." (Dec. 24, 1871)
"Upright men strove to stem the tide, but in spite of all their efforts, the apostasy went on, till the Church, with the exception of a small remnant, was submerged under pagan superstition that Christmas is a pagan festival, is beyond all doubt. The time of the year, and the ceremonies with which it is celebrated, prove its origin."
"Those who follow the custom of observing Christmas, follow not the Bible but pagan ceremonies."
Did you know that peep holes are actually called Judas Holes? Well, neither did I until today.
A Door Within a Door: The Secret of the Judas Hole
Ever wonder why medieval castles had tiny peepholes in their doors? Let me tell you about one of history's most clever (and darkly named) security features: the Judas hole.
Picture yourself in a 14th-century monastery. It's late evening. A stranger knocks on the heavy wooden door. The monk inside doesn't open it. Instead, he slides back a small metal cover and peers through a tiny opening, studying the visitor's face and intentions before deciding whether to grant entry.
That small window? That's a Judas hole.
Why the grim name? Just as Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss, this innocent-looking opening could reveal a threat before it got too close. It was a way to see without being seen, to judge without commitment.
These little portals appeared everywhere in medieval life: prison cells where guards watched inmates, castle gates where sentries spotted approaching armies, monastery doors where monks screened visitors, and yes, even in slaughterhouses where they served a darker purpose.
In an era before security cameras and intercom systems, the Judas hole was pure genius. A single opening. A moment of truth. The difference between safety and danger.
The lesson? Sometimes the smallest details matter most. A quick look before you open the door. A moment of discernment. Wisdom in caution.
They changed the day so that THEY are your covering not Yeshua. That’s why they request your confession so they can put the veil up again between you and YHVH. They desire to insert their covering over you.
The sabbath is a sign that you understand who made heaven and earth and you are submitted to the Most High (the one who made heaven and earth).
“Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, ‘Verily My Sabbaths ye shall keep; for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that ye may know that I am the Lord who doth sanctify you. Exodus 31:13
Ezekiel 20:12 12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them.
The Orthodox Church or Roman Catholic Church and their rituals do not sanctify you, this included the rituals of the churches birthed out of the Roman Catholic Church. The MOST HIGH GOD sanctifies you through his son and word.
17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. Yeshuas prayer for us in John 17:17.
You have another man’s cover on your head (The popes) when you think the sabbath was changed. See 1 cor 11.
3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
Christ is the head of a man. Not any Father or Rabbi and definitely not any random social media personality that you ask to tickle your ears.
Deuteronomy 4:2 2 Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.
If you are a ROYAL priesthood why are you seeking human priestly coverings. Kinda weird imo, especially if you are a whole full grown man.

Identity in Messiah: Your Cornerstone to building with God
We do what we truely believe. You cannot believe and not act in alignment with that belief. If you believe you are damaged and broken in some area that belief will seep out on little or big ways throughout your day. When you are squeezed by the stresses of life, that belief held deep inside of you will seep out. Understanding the shift from unbeliever walking out their life in a meat suit to child of the MOST HIGH GOD is fundamental to building with God. Think about it, how can you build life with your Father if you still believe that he rejects you? You have to trust and embrace his loving guidance as a Father who has called you home in order to receive his instruction fully.
Let’s start with the first piece of understanding Yeshua as the cornerstone by taking a look at his conversation with Peter.
”He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ (Messiah), the Son of the living God.”
And Yeshua answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”“
Matthew 16:15-19 ESV
When Peter fully recognized Yeshua as the messiah promised in scripture and the Son of the living God, he was given a NEW NAME instantly. A change of identity happened in that moment. It was commemorated with a new name. He was also given the keys to the kingdom, this means that he was handed all the authority of the kingdom as a member by belief. The rock of understanding (the cornerstone) that Peter had about WHO Yeshua is, his belief in him, shifted his identity and positioned him as an authority in the kingdom.
We see a similar picture in the book of revelation when saints get their new names.
”He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, with a new name written on the stone that no one knows except the one who receives it.’“
Revelation 2:17 ESV
What this is teaching us is that we must be fully identified as a child of God through Yeshua in order to wield the authority of heaven. You cannot be double minded in this understanding. This is the firm foundation that needs to be built to overcome every other test and trial placed before you. What is a cornerstone in a building? It is the initial stone placed that every other stone is lined up to. If the cornerstone is out of place then EVERY OTHER stone you try to set to build your house will be out of alignment. If the cornerstone is weak or out of place the entire building being built will be unstable and out of alignment.
Let’s build a firm foundation together and understand some key points about your new citizenship as a child and heir of the Most High God.
1.You Are Chosen, Loved, and Accepted
* Ephesians 1:4–5 (NIV)“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ.” * 1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” * Romans 8:38–39 (NIV)“For I am convinced that neither death nor life… nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
2.You Are Free and Forgiven
* Romans 8:1–2 (NIV)“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free.” * Ephesians 1:7 (NLT)“He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.” * John 8:36 (NIV)“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
3.You Are God’s Workmanship and Have Purpose
* Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” * Philippians 1:6 (NIV)“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
4.You Belong to Heaven
* Philippians 3:20 (NIV)“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.” * Colossians 3:3 (NIV)“For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”
Save these verses and post them around your house if you need to. Meditate on WHO you now are as a child of God and how you can trust your loving Father to guide your steps. Even when the path he is leading you on doesn’t make sense to you in your human way of thinking, he IS WORKING ALL THINGS for your best good. Trust him, even in the confusing times. Be still and trust in him. He will make your paths straight.
Many blessings from my house to yours, Jenny @Inthereallife
Idol in Hebrew is a carved out image that causes terror or fear. It’s something human hands carved out that wasn’t actually there to begin with. They carve out an idol and then that idol controls their behaviours and sacrifices! In the past (and even now) it was common to sacrifice your children to a carved out image made by human hands.
Today the most common sacrifices are our time, devotion (meditating on things), money and life purpose.
Let’s unpack this for helping us understand our own idolatry today.
We carve images that may or may not be there all the time. Sometimes, we carve out an image of what other people’s opinions are of us and we serve that image. Sometimes we find a politician or musician we like and worship them. We devote time to study and put all our precious attention on them. Often, we carve out an image of what we think our lives are supposed to look like and sacrifice towards that instead of relying on YHVH.
An idol always controls your behaviour in some way, which usually starts from an emotional control. It starts its putting your hope in something other than the Most High God to provide. Perhaps you need to feel secure and loved but instead of looking for that first in God, you look for it in your relationships. Often we need to feel seen and respected, we might look for that outside of YHVH and try to get that from other people. When we remove the idolatry of trying to get our needs met from others and place our attention back on our relationship with the Most High he will then be able to add everything else to you. You have to get the PURE provision from source first.
”But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.“
Matthew 6:33 ESV
You might be able to get a moment of what you need from humans, a bit of love or a bit of security. If that love or security is being provided to you outside of the Hand of Yah then it will always be fleeting, limited and not enough. When we instead abide in YHVHs infinite love, security and abundance then we have it direct from the source of all things.
This is where the overflow happens. When we are in this place we will then meet others in the same place and we can provide truly to each other. We BECOME the body of Christ.
When you finally realize all things come from YHVH then you can trust that whatever is in front of you is for your highest good. Eventually as you meditate on this, the idols all around you will bother you less. You can spot them quickly and move forward in victory. No longer a slave to peoples opinions, the demands of what the World thinks your life should look like or fruitless arguments. Free to just live and operate in the image of God as a provider and nourisher. Nourishing first yourself and then giving to others the overflow (and there WILL be an overflow).
”And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.“
The 10 days of Awe are the days between the feast of Trumpets and the day of Atonement. These days are for reflection and focus of God. During this time we stand in reverence of him and his plans. Don’t get distracted by the nonesense the World is doing this week! There are so many conspiracies and investigations going on right now. The enemy of your soul wants you focused on HIS PLANS and purposes instead of trusting the Most High God. Consider maybe locking your phone up for many hours this week or taking a fast from watching social media.
This week is where you clear off debts before we head into the new harvest cycle. Here is a list of somethings to consider dealing with this week.
1. Pay off outstanding debts or make arrangements where you can. 2. If you have been dishonest in anything, tell the truth about it and ask for forgiveness. 3. Forgive those who hurt you truly and make amends. 4. Try to look at your part that you have played in disagreements and arguments. Pray to do better in the future. 5. Own up to your mistakes! 6. Set goals and your hopes for the new year cycle. 7. Spend the week blessing others and seeking the sweetness of life. 8. Stand in Awe of YHVH the most High God. 9. Worship, pray, connect with him daily. Preferably 2-3 times a day.
May your coming year be sweet and full of blessings! Let’s prepare ourselves to bring heaven down in all areas of our life. Here are the verses on the fall feast dates, including the 10 days in between. ”And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall observe a day of solemn rest, a memorial proclaimed with blast of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work, and you shall present a food offering to the Lord.”
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Now on the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. It shall be for you a time of holy convocation, and you shall afflict yourselves and present a food offering to the Lord. And you shall not do any work on that very day, for it is a Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the Lord your God.“ Leviticus 23:23-28 ESV
I tend to be. I will often catch myself ruminating on a problem during the day. After some research, I found a few methods to counter this. The first thing to do is catch yourself overthinking or ruminating and name it. You can say “oh, I just noticed I’m ruminating.”. By giving it a name you expose it.
The second part of the process is hand the problem back over to God when you catch your thoughts being unhealthy. Stop and say a short prayer, invite God into the situation to resolve it and move you forward.
Next, replace the thoughts with a Bible verse. I like to use this one.
”And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.“ Romans 8:28 ESV
Finally, notice WHEN you most commonly ruminate. There are probably certain times of day (or month) that you tend to get more focused on certain things. Notice when you do not ruminate as well. Are there certain times where bad habits tend to be worse? I find if I’m too idle I ruminate so it is best to stay busy on tasks. You could keep a journal or write what you notice in your notes app for a month to see if you can spot some patterns.
Overthinking and worrying about the problem never solves it! Turn your focus back on the Most High and he will direct your steps.
Blessings, Jenny
1. Notice you are overthinking and name it outloud. 2. Pray and hand the issue back to God. Ask him to light your path so you know what to do next. 3. Replace the overthinking thoughts with Bible verses. 4. Note the “triggers” and time of your overthinking. What were you doing etc? See if you notice patterns.

* Colossians 3:3 (NIV)“For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”
Many blessings from my house to yours,
Jenny @Inthereallife

What’s an Idol?
Romans 8:28 ESV

And you shall not do any work on that very day, for it is a Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the Lord your God.“
Leviticus 23:23-28 ESV

Are you an over-thinker?
I tend to be. I will often catch myself ruminating on a problem during the day. After some research, I found a few methods to counter this. The first thing to do is catch yourself overthinking or ruminating and name it. You can say “oh, I just noticed I’m ruminating.”. By giving it a name you expose it.
The second part of the process is hand the problem back over to God when you catch your thoughts being unhealthy. Stop and say a short prayer, invite God into the situation to resolve it and move you forward.
Next, replace the thoughts with a Bible verse. I like to use this one.
”And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.“
Romans 8:28 ESV
Finally, notice WHEN you most commonly ruminate. There are probably certain times of day (or month) that you tend to get more focused on certain things. Notice when you do not ruminate as well. Are there certain times where bad habits tend to be worse? I find if I’m too idle I ruminate so it is best to stay busy on tasks. You could keep a journal or write what you notice in your notes app for a month to see if you can spot some patterns.
Overthinking and worrying about the problem never solves it! Turn your focus back on the Most High and he will direct your steps.
Blessings,
Jenny
If you want premade Bible verse promise cards to print and post around your home, I have them available to download on my Etsy shop.
