This channel is about my books, fiction and non-fiction, and the processes of writing and publishing. Equally, it is about Australian social history, as evident in many of my videos. My videos are connected with my writing.

In fiction, I write in the genre of the historical novel. My stories focus on the social and political - with some romance - within the second half of the twentieth century and the first decades of the 21st century. My non-fiction books are about political and social issues.

The influences on my writing are philosophy, particularly political philosophy (I have a master’s degree in philosophy), Catholic belief, Australian history, and great writers like Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and Evelyn Waugh.

I have an EDMUND BURKE section on this channel which presents papers analyzing and explicating Edmund Burke’s thought as well as commenting on political events from a Burkean perspective.
