I'm Thomas, a scale model builder who (mostly) builds on a budget!
I set up BOAB Models to help share my scale model builds and to demonstrate some of the methods and materials which I use.
Building on a Budget means that I try to devise ways to help people progress in the hobby without spending a lot of money. Here you will find unboxings, reviews, builds, tips, tricks, history and walkarounds!
I don't have an airbrush, a hobby room and it's rare that I use expensive aftermarket sets.
Many of my Tips and Tricks videos show how you can use everyday items found at home to help your modelling.

So Yasukichi Yanamoto himself, builder of the original Opera Performance S2000, watched my replica build on YouTube and liked it on Instagram as well! I'm pretty shocked and deeply humbled by his praise.
Opera Performance Honda S2000 in 1/24 scale based on the Tamiya model kit.
Custom decals were printed by myself, I also added Ings wing, race seat, belts, bonnet clips, and racing steering wheel.

A new video will be up later today - this one is a Vlog of my visit to Silverstone last month. Here's a little preview.
I've also been working hard on the Williams FW14B build - the model is now finished and I'm editing the video - I ended up with almost 2 hours of footage to trim down though. Hopefully it will be finished for next Monday though.

The 1992 Williams Renault FW14B won my F1 75 years build vote so here is my work in progress. This is the Fujimi 1/20 kit which helpfully comes with masking stickers.
I took this photo of Mansell's 1992 Silverstone winner when I was at the circuit a couple of weeks ago. The blue might not look quite right here, but it seems to vary under different light and I am happy with how it turned out.
