Yesterday, a certain someone made a video in which they were “getting personal” (telling obvious lies) about their past debates. Conveniently, this person neglected to mention the debate they had with me. You know, the one where they said “the air in space” and explicitly stated that the Sun is burning like an object on fire. Then, said person re-uploaded our debate but with all my speaking parts edited out, so someone else re-re-uploaded the debate, comparing the original with the re-upload and demonstrating how dishonesty cut it was. Funny how that didn’t make it into the definitely sincere and totally personal video.

I don't know about you, but it's always funny to me that the "I'll debate anyone" people have long lists of people they won't debate out of fear. It also raises the question: if the debate bros know which people will debunk their talking points, then are they actually honest actors? Hmm.

Standing for Truth, during one of his late night cringe sessions, left me some wonderful comments, but his first comment magically vanished by morning. Wonder why.

A Humorous Challenge

Conman Kent Hovind has people making "challenge videos" for him now I guess. If you want to watch it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QfYH...
I think this video is funny for a couple of reasons. First, the video says, "It is time to step up in 2022 and defend this idea." I guess the author somehow missed the past 160 years of evolution and universal common ancestry dominating biology, paleontology, and related fields. Second, the video refers to Hovind as "Dr.", which he isn't. A requisite of attaining a Ph.D., at least in science, is putting forth a thesis that contributes to the intended field. I can safely say no field of science or history was enriched by Hovind's hilarious attempt at a dissertation. Third, the video says Hovind is challenging all evolutionists, including Aron Ra and Professor Dave... both of whom Hovind already lost to... I've also had two discussions with Hovind--one freeform and one formal debate--and my understanding of biology wasn't enriched by either. Fourth, the video even slides in the canard about accepting dogs and coyotes being related but not other organisms. RJ Downard and I have dissected the inability of creationists to provide a coherent metric for relatedness versus non-relatedness in our book The Rocks Were There volume 1.
Further, Hovind has been corrected on all of his points numerous, and he refuses to change his arguments; thus, there's really no point in debating him. Even most creationists don't care what he thinks. Finally, if these debates are hosted on the Standing for Truth channel, then I recommend that people avoid them. They don't deserve the views.

It seems like a lot of creationists issue “challenges” but almost none of them will engage with people on those “challenges”. Curious.

Very first post! Next video will be up "soon", but in the meantime, you guys should check out the bovid Myotragus balearicus. It is an example of insular dwarfism from the Mediterranean Balearic Islands. With no predators in its environment, this lineage gradually shifted the position of its eyes from the "normal" artiodactyl position (an adaptation for detecting predators) on the sides of the head to the front, allowing for stereoscopic vision. It is also smaller than its mainland relatives and has a smaller braincase. Maybe I should do a video on insular dwarfism.
