I am Cyrus Drey D. Valdez. A Christian multimedia artist who does his best to help people throught the use of art. I do photography, videography, editing, and many more art. I strive to do my best and be a blessing to others as God wants me to be.
One thing I've learned throughout my creative journey is that growth doesn't happen overnight. The photos, videos, and projects people see today are the result of countless hours of learning, practicing, making mistakes, and showing up even when motivation wasn't there.
There were times when progress felt slow and moments when I questioned whether the effort was worth it. But I've come to realize that success isn't built on occasional bursts of inspiration. It's built on consistent faithfulness in the little things.
God has given each of us different talents, but talent alone is not enough. We must be willing to develop those gifts, remain teachable, and continue improving even when nobody notices. The small steps we take today become the foundation for the opportunities God may place before us tomorrow.
So wherever you are in your journey, keep learning, keep creating, and keep trusting God. Don't focus only on how far you still have to go. Look back and thank God for how far He has already brought you.
As a freelance video editor, I've learned that one of the hardest things to deal with isn't a difficult edit. It's receiving revision requests after spending hours working on a project.
There were times when I would immediately think, "Maybe my edit wasn't good enough." But over time, I realized that revisions are often just part of the creative process. Every client has a different vision, and sometimes it takes a few adjustments to bring that vision to life.
I've learned that growth doesn't come from getting everything right on the first try. It comes from being willing to listen, improve, and adapt. Some of the edits I'm most proud of today went through multiple revisions before reaching the final version.
So if you're a fellow video editor, don't let revision requests discourage you. They don't define your worth or your skill level. Take the feedback, learn from it, and keep moving forward. Every project is another opportunity to grow. Not just as an editor, but as a professional.
To every aspiring photographer, videographer, editor, and creative,
One lesson I've been learning as a creative is that not every client interaction will go the way we expect. There will be times when our work is overlooked, our efforts are misunderstood, or our patience is tested. In those moments, it's easy to become discouraged or respond out of frustration.
But as Christians, we are called to something greater.
I've realized that every project is more than just a job. It is an opportunity to serve others and honor God with the gifts He has given us. Whether a client is easy to work with or challenging, we should strive to respond with kindness, patience, humility, and professionalism. The way we treat people often speaks louder than the photos we capture or the videos we edit.
When corrections come, let's receive them humbly. When misunderstandings happen, let's seek peace instead of arguments. When opportunities come, let's be grateful. And when success follows, let's remember where our abilities came from.
At the end of the day, our goal should not simply be to build a portfolio, gain followers, or earn more income. Our goal should be to glorify God through both our work and our character. Anyone can create great content, but a godly creative seeks to reflect Christ in every conversation, every project, and every response.
May we never forget that the talents we have are gifts from God, and the best way to use them is for His honor and glory.
"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men." - Colossians 3:23

The hardest battles aren't against other people.
They're against yesterday's excuses, fears, and doubts.
Growth begins when you stop comparing yourself to others and start becoming a little better than you were yesterday.
