I’m Justice Jackson, a natural hair educator and author of The Curl Diaries.
For the past six years, I’ve been teaching millions how to actually understand their hair with real science and real results.
I’ve grown my hair from ear length to waist length and built a community of over 4 million across social media. I’m also a two-time certified Natural Hair Practitioner and current Trichology student, so everything I teach comes from both experience and professional training.
Here, you’ll usually find biweekly videos that help you get the hair you’ve always wanted. I cover growth, damage repair, routines, product education, and styling that actually works.

Hair Warning ⚠️ : The reason I created the free porosity quiz is because the well known method (cup in water test) that we all have likely tried, is considered extremely inaccurate in telling ones porosity.
If you have any product/oil on your strand then it will likely float.
If you have thicker strands, it will likely sink.
If you have finer strands, it will likely float.
So alot of people who try the cup in water method are under the assumption they have low or high porosity hair when it may be the complete opposite.
If you want to use the cup in water method regardless, I would highly recommend using a clarifying shampoo 1-2x on your hair (to get off any oily residue) and not adding conditioner or any product afterwards. THEN taking a piece of hair in a cup of water and letting it sit for 3-5 minutes.
This is the best way to try the cup in water method and seeing the likely results.
I still discourage this method for anyone with fine strands or extremely thick strands.

If your scalp is always itchy, flaky, full of buildup, or your hair stays dry no matter what you do… you might not be washing enough.
In my new Substack post, I break down why “washing less” doesn’t actually make your hair grow faster + how often each hair type really needs to be washing to see results.

If your hair isn’t growing the way it should, this might be why.
I just posted a quick video on the two main things that secretly MAJORLY messes with hair growth, especially for Black women.
It’s short and to the point and it might explain a lot if your hair always feels dry or stuck.
