Elizabethe NJ-The New Jersey Christian Artists Ministries celebrated its 10th anniversary in grand style with a gala held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Church of God Council Evangelical and Apostolic, located at 67 Prince Street in Elizabeth, New Jersey, under the leadership of Pastors and Drs. Karl and Marie Joseph.
Delivering the keynote address, President Jackson Damonvil extended his gratitude to the artists who have supported the organization since its inception, emphasizing that the founding vision continues to endure a decade later. Christian artists in attendance also expressed appreciation to members of the community for their consistent support of evangelical artists over the years.
The NJ Christian Artists Ministries was established on April 3rd 2015 by a collective of artists who first came together at a Baptist church in Irvington led by Pastor Anslo. The initiative was driven by a desire to better organize and structure the work of artists serving in the evangelical sector. According to several NJCAM members, the organization has helped address longstanding challenges in the planning and execution of evangelical concerts, which were previously carried out with limited coordination or oversight. However, they noted that significant challenges remain and that continued efforts are needed to strengthen the sector.
The gala brought together more than one hundred attendees and, in keeping with tradition, was held without public promotion and by invitation only. In closing, President Damonvil thanked those in attendance for joining the anniversary celebration and called on the community to continue supporting evangelical artists through prayer.
It was a profound honor for me today—not only to be among the poets featured this evening, but also to share the stage with two extraordinary women, Ameerah Shabazz and Helena D. Lewis, whose contributions to the arts I hold in the highest regard. Poetry, to me, is life itself. My sincere gratitude to Joshua and Jaquair Gillette for gracing the microphone with their presence.
