World War Wisdom

Just wrapped up another D-Day Ohio reenactment! I spent my time at the event catching up with friends from all over the country, meeting the next generation of WWII reenactors, and I even got to chat with Frank Stellar, a WWII veteran who was kind enough to share some of his stories with me. After doing this event for so many years, I still love taking part in the battle reenactments, but the great people there are what keeps me coming back year after year.

This is one of those mistakes that once you learn about it, you will start to notice it in every D-Day movie, video game, and museum exhibit you see! Check it out.

Check out my new studio! I’m looking forward to filming plenty of WWII content here. Remember to leave a comment on the video to let me know which types of videos you’d like to see me film in my new space!

In honor of the 82nd Anniversary of the D-Day invasion, I decided to make this video (with the help of ‪@MikeAkkerman‬ ) to dispel some of the most common myths I hear about D-Day. Check it out!

“Are you Marines?” was the question of the day as we represented the 41st Armored Infantry Regiment at the Findlay Military Show this weekend. That question made for a great conversation starter, and although people often associate these frogskin uniforms with the Marines, the Army made use of this camo pattern during WWII as well. This was my first time throwing a 41st kit together, and it was a good excuse to break out my M1903A3 rifle. The “03A3” variant didn’t see a whole lot of use on the front lines in the ETO, but the 41st can be seen using them in a number of original photos.

NOW HEAR THIS: MY PO BOX IS NOW CLOSED
I will be transitioning to a new PO Box in the near future, but in the meantime, please refrain from sending any new mail to my old PO Box address as I may not receive it. I will be opening all of the mail I have received recently in a livestream on Thursday 5/21 at 5pm Eastern. Hope to see you there!

If you have already mailed something (even if you just mailed it today), do not worry. I will still receive everything that has already been sent!

If you have something you’d like to send me, I would love that, but please hold off temporarily until I post my updated mailing address.

My 330th IR C Co re-enactment group conducted a fun and productive unit training event this past weekend. Much of our time was spent digging fighting positions and catching up around the camp fire. The wet weather put our ponchos, raincoats, and boot dubbing to the test, and we managed to stay relatively dry. Casualties at the event included 1 T handle shovel, 1 folding shovel, 1 full sized shovel, and countless brews.
