Here it is ♥️ My duet with @EmilyJamesMusic . It’s called “Your Surrender” and it’s about letting go of the belief that love has to be complicated to be real.
I’m equally excited to introduce you to this powerhouse woman (artist/writer/producer), Emily James, if you don’t know her yet, just listen to her songs because they tell it all.
I wrote a song with an incredible artist, songwriter, and producer based in Los Angeles: @EmilyJamesMusic . To me, her songs are downright addictive, just like her voice. I dropped her a message to ask if she would like to write together sometime and to my delight she said yes.
It’s fun to notice how during such a first meeting you can go into depth and tell each other things about your life that few other people know. We talked about love and how uncomfortable it can feel when it seems to come naturally.
From behind my piano, I played a verse for Emily and when she intuitively started singing a chorus I knew we had something special.
Emily sent me a demo of her singing our song and it immediately brought me to tears. I sang my vocal part when 40 weeks pregnant of my son. I tried to re-do it a few months later, but I couldn’t capture the depth that was in this first take. Some things are best when you don't overthink them.
If you don't know Emily yet, I am proud to introduce you to her this Friday, November 10th, and share with you this precious song we wrote together: 'Your Surrender'.

I've worked on this album over the past 2,5 years. I needed time to think about the way we live our lives in these current times. If I look back on what was, and look forward to the future, both in universal and innermost terms, what changes do I want to make? 'Meet Me on The Edge of Our Ruin' is an open invitation to look back on the past and think about the way we want to move forward.
Now the album is yours. I want to thank you for (pre-)ordering and listening to my music over the past years, I can't tell you how much that means, maybe even more so in times like these. ♥️
