I found this super cool project called Folding@home thanks to a commenter on my last vidya
Basically: #### Scientists design protein simulations for disease research #### We use our GPUs and crunch the data for them.
SO... together we could be the world’s biggest supercomputer? --> for a good cause!
I made a team: (team pewds) ID 1066966 . Please join me if youre interested!!! (I feel like this reads like an ad but its just for charity and for fun lol, and saying your computer has helped cancer research among other diseases is a nice flex too).
UPDATE !!! I'M SHUTTING DOWN MEMBERS ON THIS CHANNEL. ------- First I gotta say I'm super proud we raised huge amounts of $ to charity thanks to members! The fact that we donated to a different charity each month also meant large money and support could go to where it was really needed at the time. Thank you guys for your generosity, seriously!
But after becoming a dad and moving countries my focus has shifted and free time is more rare. I wanna focus on each video I upload instead and I don't have time to keep extra member content or livestreams going. I kept members running for a while.. thinking I will pick it up again at SOME point.
And even though members seems weirdly ok with paying each month - I realize I dont feel comfortable keeping it up if I don't provide a service for it in return. I asked if members were ok with it: and they were unanimously supportive of the idea to make all the previously members locked content, available for EVERYONE to watch.
Thank you all for the amazing support on my recent video(s)! I love how I can just nerd out and share whatever with you guys.
In the comments, I've seen some of you mention "stop killing games" and I want to say: I 100% support this movement. It ties in perfectly with what I talked about in my video *ownership over software (and the games we buy).
