In case you missed it, I put out another supercut, this one ranking 13 of my favorite woodworking projects from beginner to pro. https://youtu.be/XfgUODS3618?si=xo4cW... Which project is your favorite?
Hey guys, I've been working on a new downloadable PDF tool buying guide called "Build Without Breaking the Bank : Essential Woodworking Tools Under $1,500", and the best part is it's totally free when you subscribe to my email newsletter. If you're interested, go grab it here: bit.ly/buildunder1500 . In the 8 page PDF, I go through, in detail, which tools to pick when you're getting started and, more importantly, I explain why I chose those tools. It's easy to waste your money on tools you don't need and, hopefully, this guide can help you avoid that. Let me know what you think!
Hey y'all, I wanted to let you know that I've been messing around recording some music here at the shop and decided to release a little EP, in case you wanted to check it out! distrokid.com/hyperfollow/johnnybrooke/logic-vol-1 Let me know what you think!
As some of you might have seen on the news, Asheville, NC, where my shop and home are located, was devastated by Hurricane Helene. My family were fortunate enough to be out of town when the storm hit and we are waiting to be able to fly home when flights resume. Thankfully, our house and my shop seem to be relatively unscathed but communication has been limited since there is no power, water, internet, or cell service in most of Asheville currently. Needless to say, there will be no video this week and potentially next, as I can’t work with no power. I hope any other folks in the impacted areas are staying safe.
Super excited to be back to woodworking with this outfeed table project. This one is really putting the “furniture” in shop furniture! I wanted to do a project like this to get back in the groove before tackling some more ambitious furniture projects.
Hopefully you've all seen the last video on getting the storage in the finishing/metalworking room dialed in (watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BwFg... ) but I wanted to know what kind of storage you use most in your shops. I've got my personal favorites but what are some of yours?
Another year, another surgery! 🔪 Thankfully, this one should be a much speedier recovery than the collar bone. Evidently, I have been living with a majorly deviated septum for years now. It was so deviated they couldn’t get the scope up my right nostril! I finally decided to have it repaired and can’t wait to see how much this improves my breathing (and, hopefully, my snoring) 💤😂!
Alright y'all, I need some help with the project I'm working on, my finishing room/metalworking shop. This room was used as a spray booth when the shop was a cabinet shop back in the day (check out the last picture) and, because of that, there's already a 24" hole punched through the ceiling up into the attic then a shuttered exhaust going out the side.
I've been looking at tube axial fans (cookmfg.com/product/tube-axial-fan/) but I've got a few concerns. First, they're REALLY expensive, especially when you factor in the required ductwork (well over $2,000 after shipping). Second, I'm worried a fan that powerful might be too much for my needs, which is really just exhaust when I'm spraying finishes or welding.
Do any of y'all have a similar setup? If so, I'd love to hear what kind of fan you're using and what you think of it. Unfortunately, there's not much in my area (Asheville, NC) in the used market. If any of you have a fan you're looking to sell, let me know!
I've been working hard behind the scenes planning my upcoming content to keep Crafted Workshop growing. Obviously, you all are the most important part of this content plan and I want to make sure I'm making the videos you want to watch. Let's do a quick poll so I can get an idea of what you're most interested in watching. If there's anything I've missed, drop a comment below. Thanks for the feedback!
I'm working on some potential new hat designs and wanted to see which ones y'all liked best? These hats are a synthetic material, so they dry quickly if you're working up a sweat in the shop. I'll be doing a limited run since these are not printed to order and I'll be doing a presale of the design you guys prefer.
