Sailing Millennial Falcon

Khiara and Adam are from Melbourne, Australia. We bought the Millennial Falcon, a 1981 Tayana 42, in Port Charlotte, Florida in February of 2018 and have been repairing her in many weird and wonderful places ever since! It's been one hell of an adventure so far and we hope to continue for as long and as far as we can!

We saved for many years to realise our goal. Watching other sailing channels, in addition to brightening our work days, gave us the hope and drive to continue saving and eventually take the plunge! So please join us on our adventure. I hope we make you laugh and can prove to some of you that it can be done!

Sailing Millennial Falcon

We’ve had a busy last few weeks and now finally have the time to sit back on the Falcon and give a summary of why we’ve been a bit quiet!
We had an exciting 1500nm delivery on a brand new boat planned so we left Millie in Scotland and flew to south UK to start the delivery. Unfortunately on the day of leaving we were told we can’t really film much because of the owners privacy 🤦‍♀️
Fair enough, so instead of gaining more footage and posting photos of the delivery, we’re now behind on releases and unable to share the story! The delivery was a bit of a mess (problems with boat) and we didn’t end up at our final destination but we’re now back on Millennial Falcon and ready to sail, in between all the winter gales 😂
It’s so nice to be back home though ⛵️

So here’s a summary of our last month:
Khiara pretending to be fancy while driving, adam actually driving, a sunset in the Bay of Biscay, Khiara trying to get as close as she can to a sheep while they run away, and Adam attempting to befriend dolphins.

Unfortunately no video today guys! We’re on route to a safe harbour to get Millie put to bed before a very nasty band of weather passes through later in the week. This is the only weather we have to haul our butts south, so when the weather says go - we go!
Such is a sailors life 😊

Sailing Millennial Falcon

Back to little Milly! ⛵️
After taking some longer than expected time off, we’ve finally made it back to the boat!

Long story short, we were meant to return last month but our USA ESTAs to transit the States to get back to our boat (which is in Trinidad) got withdrawn… 12 hours before the flight and with no reason why. and so we were kind of stuck not being able to get back to the boat!

We eventually got all new flights avoiding the States and managed to return to Trinidad.

Anyway, we’re now back and have started working our way through some boat jobs (new antifoul, installing new transducers & sea cocks etc) and after somehow managing to delete our website while changing hosting services (whooops!) I now have plenty of admin jobs to do while here as well!

We should be back on the water, releasing videos and ready for a sail (!!!) by next week though 😁

Helllooo everyone!
Well, we're officially been back on dry land after a looong passage across the Atlantic... 3567nm in total in fact! Now that we've been back a few days and are not on a constant lean, the laptops come out and we've started editing again. We have one in the pipe now but our internet is being VERY slow... It most likely will be released on Wednesday (Yes - it's THAT slow). But for now - we're back guys!!

Where have the Millennial Falcons gone you ask!
Well, Some time ago over on the other socials we announced the commencement of our Atlantic crossing. This crossing also happened to coincide with our annual "take some time off to get some footage back in the pipe for the new year" break. Suffice it to say we've had a few hiccups in our progress and we are currently on an unplanned stop in Cape Verde for repairs. All is well and we are almost back on track! when we make it to the other side we will get our ducks back in a row and recommence our regularly schedules shennanigans.

We've got an exciting year of sailing and projects ahead and we cant wait to share it with you all!
Special thanks to those of you who took the time to reach out and check up on us. We feel very loved!

In the meantime you can track our progress on our website

We know you'd all usually be out celebrating the end of the week and are now stuck indoors! So we thought you could use a little end of week bonus episode to tide you over and keep everyone smiling and happy through these uncertain times!

Keep your chins up, take your vitamins and be kind to one another.
Lots of love,

Sailing Millennial Falcon

Hi Folks,
Just wanted to give you a quick update on the situation on our end.

We’re currently in Grenada with our boat hauled out of the water for a few more days. We are keen to get her back in the waster ASAP and the soonest time we could book a splashdown was on Wednesday next week.

Fortunately for us, Grenada seems, to our knowledge, to be one of the few places that have had no reported cases of the virus. The authorities are keen to keep it this way and have been limiting all flights into and out of the country and we are seeing less and less planes flying each day.
Newly arriving boats are not allowed ashore and supplies will be brought to their boat. As we’re already inside the country, we’re ok… for now. Things seem to be changing on a daily basis so we’re trying to keep abreast of the situation as much as we can.

The government is encouraging social distancing and we have seen quite a few local establishments put measures in place to enforce this. Thankfully there doesn’t seem to be much/any hysteria here and everyone is taking it in there stride.

Our plans have obviously changed but our immediate goal is to make the most out of this situation, do as much as we can on the boat, and continue to release as much happy, uplifting and entertaining content as possible to keep you all as happy and entertained as possible during this lockdown.

It’s not lost on us that our situation currently seems to be less severe than the rest of the world and our thoughts and best wishes are with those back on the home front dealing with the brunt of the situation. Adam and I are thinking of everyone and we are wishing you all the very best.

Please stay safe, stay isolated, be kind to one another and take your vitamins!
