Whilst wild camping with friend David Friars, he talked me through his kit setup.

This consists of a Savotta Jääkäri M pack, a DD Superlight tarp tent, and a handmade pouch system that keeps everything dialled in.

At first, I only asked David to walk me through his setup so I could get fresh ideas for packing my own kit.

But halfway through, I realised, this is really useful information.

So I filmed it.

I recently spent the day with the talented and wonderful Ali Asadi of 'Carving and Turning' at his beautiful workshop in Stevenage, UK

In recent years, Ali has built a strong reputation as a traditional pole lathe turner, specialising in handcrafted wooden bowls, plates, cups, mugs, and locking-lidded boxes; all made with care and precision

While visiting Ali, we filmed a detailed tutorial where he demonstrates step by step how to turn a wooden plate on the pole lathe. From a raw piece of wood to a beautifully finished plate, he leaves no stone unturned
