This channel is a history focused channel, but our interest in literature and politics will seep through into videos. Maybe we'll do a video on the life of a historical figure? Or review a book? Talk about the book's impact on history or how it looks today? Perhaps even a video on how a political system works? Maybe even just read through Harry Potter (I'd totally be up for that... sitting in front of a fireplace...). Anyway, subscribe if you want to find out more about the incredible world we live in and the complex, fascinating history that makes life on Earth so unique.
This channel is a sister channel of the Ben G Thomas channel. We are currently on a semi hiatus as Doug recruits a bigger team and everyone finishes their degrees. We are also currently hard at work on The Traveller (short film). The main focus is to stick to making videos on Ben G Thomas, and come back to uploading regularly here too. Don't worry, 7 Days of Science will always continue on the Ben G Thomas channel!

Channel Refresh!
(also second channel)
Hello everyone, it's me, Douglas. The guy. The big man. The small man. The man, generally speaking.
As you can see, I've given the channel a bit of a graphical refresh. This is an intermediary because I want to properly have a profile picture and channel banner done at some point, but I think this is a nice upgrade from before at least.
This channel is a mess. And it is going to stay a little bit of a mess, but I'm moving a few videos over to a second channel (youtube.com/@2Doug4James) - so all the piano, bloopers, and more will go over there for now. A second channel will allow me to both upload more of myself doing silly things that wouldn't suit the main, and clear up some videos that probably shouldn't be here anyway. I'll keep everything on here until I upload a video explaining the move at some point (probably in September).
If you are one of the lovely people who enjoy my piano stuff, then I'll be uploading more on the second channel too; including some pieces I have written for other projects that I think would be fun to release.
In other news, I'm currently working on a video where I go and visit a castle in Wales, and I'm looking to perhaps do a video on 'What is the Modern Shakespeare?' after that. I've some fun ideas, so I am excited to give that a proper look when I get time.

We're coming back! Towards the latter half of this year and beyond, Doug A James is going to be back on track and running again with everything from 1 Minute History to bigger projects like more Great Battles documentaries and short films!

So a couple of people have suggested making the "1 Minute History" videos into #shorts , but that would require me to reupload all of the at a different resolution. Also I wouldn't really want to remove the old ones so there'd just be duplicates on the channel.
I have considered this in the past, but the only reason I'd do it would be to grow the channel faster, which previously didn't feel like the best reason, but I'll leave it up to you guys, what do you think I should do?
