Makayla Dean πΈ was a vibrant 20-year-old from Chicago whose life was cut short π in September 2025 after a deadly confrontation with her ex-boyfriend. She had been dealing with ongoing issues with him, and on the night of the tragedy she reportedly called him out, telling him to come outside πͺ. Instead of walking away or defusing the situation, he pulled out a gun π« and fired, ending Makaylaβs life in an instant π’. The senseless killing shook her family, friends, and community, who were left heartbroken as they gathered with balloons π, flowers πΉ, and candles π―οΈ to honor her memory while struggling to understand why her life had to end this way ποΈ.
What made the pain even worse was the delay in accountability β³. For two long months, her loved ones waited as her ex remained free, while they grieved and demanded justice βοΈ. Finally, he was charged with her murder, bringing a small measure of relief, but no true comfort to those who knew and loved her π. The case exposed the dangerous cycle of toxic relationships π₯, pride, and violence that too often ends in irreversible tragedy π¨. Makayla should have been planning her future, not having it stolen β yet now she is remembered as forever young, forever loved, and forever missed β€οΈ. RIP Makayla Dean πΉ.

Tamara Perkins, a 45-year-old Memphis woman, lived her life with passion, faith, and an unapologetic spirit ππ. She grew up in the church, loved to sang πΆ, and found comfort in sharing her soulful voice both inside and outside the pews. Despite facing judgment from some due to her identity π³οΈβπ, she stood strong, spreading love, joy, and encouragement through her gospel battles, karaoke nights, and online presence as βKing Perkins.β Tamara balanced her career at Unilever with her faith and her growing platform, where she inspired others by showing what it meant to live boldly with no apologies πͺπ. She was deeply loved by family, friends, and her community, known for her humor, strength, and the light she carried into every room she entered β¨.
But on September 23, 2025, that light was tragically dimmed ππ«. During a night of drinking, Tamara got into an argument over religion with 69-year-old Calvin Johnson Sr., a man she had once called a friend. After a heated exchange, Calvin went to his room, grabbed a shotgun, and shot her in the abdomen without warning π’π‘. Police arrived to find him confessing casually, showing no remorse, only self-pity. His actions shocked the community, not only because he betrayed her trust, but because it highlighted the ugly hypocrisy of hiding hate behind the church βͺπ₯. Tamara deserved more time, more love, and more lifeβbut instead, her voice was silenced by senseless violence. RIP to the victim, Tamara Perkins ποΈπΉ.
