This channel was formerly named "Boomer Listens." I am a "boomer" who grew up in the late 70's, and a fan of mostly music played on classic rock stations. On this channel, I will listen to, and record my reactions to popular music - some old, some new, some familiar, some not. I do not have a musical background other than high school choir, and some of the musical terms I use may not be accurate, so bear with me. Follow me on my journey!

Hey everyone - I know it's been months (almost a year) since I've released any new videos, as I decide what direction I want to take with this channel. As you may know, reaction channels face many obstacles with copyright issues, etc. on YouTube.

She is not only one of the most fantastic voices that I've ever heard, but she has developed a super interactive Twitch community, combining music with fun, chaos, and even some gaming. I know it has been a few days since I posted a video, my apologies. I have been fighting a nasty cold this past week, and I lost my voice for a few days. I'm still not fully recovered, but hopefully I will be back to posting regularly starting next week. Sorry, and thanks for being patient.

Well, here we are, a little over five weeks in. 33 total videos, 60 subscribers so far, over 1.5K views, and the views are going up - thanks to all of you! I started out at this totally green, and refining my skills as I go. My daughter says that I need to be more reactive and talkative, and perhaps a little more "edgy" with my reactions. I'm afraid my laid-back personality and my tendency to "go with the flow" is showing through. I can't make myself into something I'm not, but I will work on at least being more entertaining and fun.
I have received music suggestions from many of you - thank you! I have been asked if the music needs to be "new" - while my brand specifically states "...reacts to today's music", keep in mind that I have been out of the current music scene for the last 20 years or so. Ideally, I want to react to music that many viewers might be familiar with, although my viewers are in many age ranges and backgrounds. Explicit lyrics are not a problem, as long as they don't constitute the majority of the lyrics. I am trying to avoid playing "sanitized" versions of songs, radio edits, etc. It's tough though, because in order to have an honest reaction, I can't listen ahead of time.
Video production has presented its own share of issues. From copyright claims and blocks, to editing out all of the pauses, "umm's" and "uhh's", etc., to audio issues with my shared music, it's a struggle to get things right. Streamyard is a simple way of doing this, but technically, it just isn't working out well. I am trying to learn how to use OBS Studio, and I've also heard of a web site called Riverside.fm that I will check out (but it costs money, of course).
Long story short, I will keep at this - it's fun, and my audience seems to be enjoying it. Please keep letting me know what you think. I'm trying to release a video a day, but I'm not sure if I can maintain that going forward. Many of you know that this is a second channel for me, and I have work on my primary channel that needs my attention also, along with personal obligations, rest, etc. Bear with me, and let's have fun together!
