Rediscovering ancient roots in a modern way
Indigenous Dermatology (ID) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation and a Florida public charity. The programmatic work of ID is overseen by our Board of Directors and supported by community and governmental leaders in our partner sites.
We believe every indigenous person deserves access to quality, culturally sensitive care. Indigenous Dermatology works to provide remote dermatology to rural, tribal communities in the United States.
Indigenous Dermatology
Skin conditions in #melanatedskin are frequently misunderstood or overlooked.
In remote Indigenous communities, limited access to specialists, long travel distances, & a lack of culturally informed care create real barriers to treatment.
Visit www.indigenousdermatology.com to support the mission.
At Indigenous Dermatology, we believe that skincare is about equity, representation, and respect.

Can #AI diagnose #rosacea? 🤖
Research shows promise, but also major limitations.
Concerns include:
• Misdiagnosis
• Skin tone bias
• Privacy issues
• Lack of transparency
AI may support dermatology someday, but expert clinical judgment remains essential.

Winter hits melanated skin HARDER. ❄️
Here’s why 👇🏾
• Low humidity = fast moisture loss
• Hot showers strip natural oils
• Irritation → hyperpigmentation
Protect your barrier this season.
