I’ve been diving back into Cyrodiil for the last couple of hours and soaking in all the new visuals, tweaks, and upgrades, and I’ll be sharing my first impressions in a video later today (hopefully). 👀

The Oblivion Remaster Just Leaked… and It Looks INSANE.

Greetings Wizards, hope you’re all doing well! 🧙‍♂️

As many of you know, there have been rumours about an Oblivion remake/remaster ever since that infamous leaked Microsoft document… but this? This is the biggest leak yet!

Wizards, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is getting a full remaster! 🙌

Screenshots that appeared online (and were quickly pulled down) show a massive visual overhaul: revamped environments, reimagined Oblivion Gates, interiors, dungeons, the works (just check out the images). It’s all listed under the name “Oblivion Remastered”, and being developed by Virtuos, a studio known for AAA remasters like Dark Souls Remastered, Final Fantasy X/X-2, The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition, and more.

And here’s where it gets even more interesting:
• It may be built in Unreal Engine 5, which could explain the dramatic lighting and environmental improvements.
• A Deluxe Edition was mentioned in the leak, yes, including Horse Armor. A glorious, cheeky nod to one of the most meme-worthy DLCs of all time.
• It’s reportedly coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, with Game Pass day-one support likely on the cards.
• Some are speculating a shadow-drop release for some time next week, though nothing is confirmed just yet.

It’s also worth noting that this project isn’t being developed by Bethesda Game Studios directly. So, that’s a good sign as it suggests this remaster shouldn’t interfere with Elder Scrolls VI development, which (fingers crossed 🤞) is still moving forward behind the scenes.

So yeah… this is looking real. And it looks incredible!

Did you know that one of Windhelm's walls is adorned with hundreds of engraved stones, each bearing a person's name? 🤯

Some speculate it's a memorial to the Five Hundred Companions - the legendary Atmoran warriors who, alongside Ysgramor, reclaimed Skyrim from the elves and helped build Windhelm. 💪

You may also be wondering why I'm here. And the reason for that is that I'm ranking Skyrim's cities for my next video (including Raven Rock – seriously, how is that a town?!). 🤔
