After being away for four months, Rocket Money had our back and jumped on one of our first videos back. Gotta love a sponsor who'll stick with ya through it all! We genuinely think their service is great and they’re just a great company to work with from a creator standpoint so if you’ve been on the fence, show them some love using our link so they keep working with us in the future haha and check out our video all about Disney and their cult-like following if you haven't yet!
This has been one of the most stressful things I’ve had to deal with since being on YouTube. It’s so great to have sponsors that actually care though. BIG shoutout to Ground News for standing by our side in the shutdown and their continuous support for our channel!
Hey everyone, we've been kinda silent since the channel shut down while we're trying to figure everything out on our end. We're posting updates on Patreon and exclusive content that would've gone up on the channel so, if you're able to, we'd love to see you over there. In the meantime, we're still a 1% for the planet member and it’s the time of year where we consider which organizations we’d like to support! We’d love for you to be a part of this process, so vote below which of these you feel most aligned with. We’ll be donating a percentage of our total amount of money for the year to each organization based on their proportion of votes, so every vote counts. We're focusing on organizations that ensure food-security and environmental education this time around!

Greater Victoria Compost Education Centre Non-profit committed to providing in-school and community educational programs on composting, soil conservation, local food production, and environmental stewardship. directories.onepercentfortheplanet.org/profile/gre…
So our Zyn episode got demonetized on the day we posted our AI video… which is a bit ironic because it was likely an AI algorithm that deemed it to be ineligible for ads. 😂We’re guessing it’s because it’s about a tobacco product and promoting tobacco is not very ad friendly but surely AI could detect that this video is a critique rather than an ad? This was sent to us after a human reviewed it though so maybe the AI is not that much worse than we are... Anyway, if you wanna help us make up the loss from that you can watch our whole episode about AI that just went live. 👍🏼😜
Apple makes subscriptions even worse by "claiming a 30 per cent share of any transactions completed within the platform's app on iOS devices such as iPhones or iPads". This news broke after we released our latest video all about subscriptions so we didn't get in there but it just makes the landscape of subscriptions more difficult. So just a reminder that if you do decide to support anyone on Patreon, do it through their website!
If you've seen today's video, you know thrifting is more popular than ever. However, as a whole thrift stores and resell websites are losing money. According to the BBC, "the economics don't make sense, and most companies are struggling." Sites like ThredUp, TheRealReal, and Depop are all at net losses at the end of each year and the culprit is all the same stuff we talk about in our video (there's an oversupply of really cheap bad quality clothes basically 😞) so check that out if you haven't seen it yet!
