Hey dragonlings! Welcome to my channel. Here we talk about reading and writing-although mostly writing. You'll find live writing sprints, vlogs, gameplay, writing discussions and more on this channel.
S.D. Hegyes is a pen name Skye writes and publishes fantasy books under. She currently resides in Montana with her husband, two monster-munchkins, a bearded dragon, three dogs, and three cats. She tends to write about monsters (and other creatures that go bump in the night) falling in love.

No craft symposium today.
I mentioned in a post the other day that I don’t have enough spell slots 🧙 to do a live stream. I also did a poll that asked what you’d like to see for craft symposium moving forward, and most want a dedicated video to the craft symposium reads versus a live stream discussion, so that’s what I’ll be doing moving forward.
The first of these discussions will be coming out either 1 Mar 2026 or 8 Mar 2026 depending on when I get a chance to sit down and film it.
When we did the poll for last month, there was a tie between two books, and we chose the romance book because we were going into the month of love. That means the first one will be about WRITING SHORT ROMANCE FOR PLEASURE OR PROFIT by Sadie B. King. Then, at the end of March, I will tackle the other tie winner, which means I’ll be posting DEAR WRITER, YOU NEED TO QUIT by Becca Syme 29 Mar 2026.
If there’s anything specific you would like to know about either book before I film videos about them, feel free to let me know in the comments. And, if you’d like to get your own copy of DEAR WRITER, YOU NEED TO QUIT by Becca Syme, you can find it here: www.amazon.com/dp/B07N36MHWD.

No productivity live stream this evening. It was a difficult week at work, and I need to decompress before I go nuclear on someone and lose my job.
I still want to chat though, so I’m going to be doing a gaming stream instead. The demo to a game I backed on Kickstarter is now live, and I figured we’d play that and chat instead of sprints.
Join me and chat while I play The Witch’s Bakery at 9:00 PM MST.

If that doesn’t sound interesting to you, and you’d rather do productivity sprints, here’s a link to the AuthorTube spreadsheet where you can find all kinds of streams at all hours of the day.

I hope you’ll join me, but understand if that’s not what you’re looking for!

Quick question for you!
We’ve had three Craft Symposium discussions here on the channel, and I’ve enjoyed them, but I want to hear from you about the format you'd prefer moving forward!
All of this is stemming from one thing… I’m not going to be able to do this week’s Craft Symposium. I just don’t have enough spell slots to handle it this week, but I don’t know if moving the stream to the following weekend is the best solution either.
Eager to see what you think! Stay warm and fly safe, dragonlings!
Do you prefer…

Yesterday ended the annual #U1kM hosted by ‪@WriterSamWicker‬. This year, Sam had a lot of help putting everything together and sorting through all the tech gremlins on the backend, so I wanted to give a shout-out to them as well: ‪@RachelDAdams‬ and ‪@KayParquet‬.
Thank you ladies as well as everyone else who helped put together a wonderful marathon this year! I can’t wait for next year’s event!
A special shout-out goes to ‪@LauraNettles‬, ‪@SakoTumiCassVoit‬, and ‪@stephaniemwhitson‬ who all joined me at various tims as co-hosts during an almost 9-hour stream, and to ‪@LauraCrampton‬ who helped mod that stream at various points.
Did you catch the marathon? What were your goals? Did you meet them? What was your favorite moment during the event? Tell me all the things! I’d love to hear about your experience.
If you're interested in watching a replay of any of the marathon streams, you can find them on this playlist: bit.ly/4bnjU3j

Sorry dragonlings,
I had a glitch in the matrix today and both my phone and my computer told me I didn't have space. What?!? So instead of filming and editing videos for this week, like I wanted to do, I ended up clearing off files from both my phone and my computer in order to make space.
The computer was so full that it wouldn't let me even edit a vlog using clips already imported to the file. Cue all my confusion.
So, my chatty vlog will be a day late, and my video might be as well, although it's a shorter one, so maybe not. We'll see.
I was so frustrated with it all that I forgot to make a post Monday announcing that the #U1kM was going on. Check out ‪@WriterSamWicker‬ if you want to learn more about it, and you can find the playlist here: bit.ly/4bnjU3j

Hey dragonlings!
Last night, we discussed THE 12 WEEK YEAR FOR WRITERS by A. Trevor Thrall, Brian Moran and Michael Lennington during our monthly craft symposium, and we announced February’s book.
If you missed last night’s discussion, you can find that here: youtube.com/live/6X1fPw9C7EY.
If you’d rather just know the next book we’ll be discussing, you’re in the right place!
February’s craft symposium book is WRITING SHORT ROMANCE FOR PLEASURE AND PROFIT by Sadie B. King. Here’s a link if you’re interested in checking it out for yourself: www.amazon.com/dp/B0CFKTRC13.
Our discussion of the book will be on 22 Feb 2026 at 7 PM MT (6 PM PT, 8 PM CT, 9 PM ET). Hope to see you there! I’d love to know others’ thoughts on it.

Apologies. There won’t be a vlog this week.
I didn’t film at all last week, as I spent all week working on notes for voiceover clips for a video coming out at the end of February instead of writing or editing. Plus, my thoughts have been too tumultuous aside because of everything going on in the world at the moment. Fun times we’re living in… Not!
Instead, I want to take a moment to check in with everyone and make sure y’all are doing OK.
Are you safe? Are you mentally and physically doing well? Remember, you are worthy of taking up space in this world. If you’re a writer, an artist, a crafter, an actor—the world deserves your art, your work. Never forget that.
Please note, my channel is a safe place. If you need to vent or lament, feel free to reach out to me in some fashion. I may not respond right away, but I will respond.
And if you’re having darker thoughts, reach out to someone. Anyone. Please.
Stay warm and fly safe, dragonlings.

Hey dragonlings!
It’s time to pick the next book we’ll read for our craft symposium. We’ve read Outlining Your Novel by K.M. Weiland, The 12 Week Year by Brian P. Moran and Michael Lennington and The 12 Week Year for Writers by A. Trevor Thrall, PhD; Brian Moran; and Michael Lennington.
This month our options are:
- Dear Writer, You Need to Quit by Becca Syme
- Writing Short Romance for Pleasure and Profit by Sadie B King
- Refuse to be Done by Matt Bell
Voting closes 24 Jan 2026 and the winner announced during the January live stream. I’ll also make a post for those who can’t make it to the live stream.
Thank you for voting and fly safe, dragonlings!

We’ll start on Stephanie’s channel and run for 6 hours before we take an hour-long break to nap, stretch, refresh ourselves before we’re back for the second 6 hours over on my channel.
Stephanie’s stream will start at 5 PM mountain time: youtube.com/live/fpmp7-k3FVA.
Mine will start at midnight the following day: youtube.com/live/LzbGEPO2h0Y.
