This afternoon I put together a quick stop motion on an iPhone 15 Pro—just half an hour of shooting.
I borrowed my friend’s phone to see how the iPhone 15Pro handles stop motion. I also wanted to revisit the feeling of working with the simplest setup, and it turned out to be a lot of fun.
I’d say the 15 Pro is more than capable for stop-motion content on social media. You really don’t need a DSLR and Dragonframe unless it’s a serious project where depth of field and lighting flexibility are critical. For everyday posts, the quality looks great on a phone screen—and shooting on a phone just feels so much more relaxed.
With AI being what it is now, I’ve realized the joy of creating in the moment matters way more than before. Today honestly felt like being back in school—just surrounded by friends, making something for the fun of it.
This is the third short film I've created for GAKI RACE, and it marks the very first appearance of female characters in the series.
I’ve placed high hopes on Yuki & Yumi, hoping to bring out their unique charm. The production was filled with challenges, but after nearly five months of hard work, this 1-minute film is finally complete.
Hope you enjoy it! Feel free to share your thoughts about the characters and the story in the comments.
When I bought this LEGO Friends set, I didn’t have any specific filming plans for it. I’d just rewatched the show a bunch of times and wanted it as a little keepsake—something to look at now and then to remember the gang and their apartments.
But then last year, Matthew Perry passed away, and that became my reason to finally bring it out and film something.
I actually finished filming this little tribute about a month after he passed, but I got caught up with other things and never got around to editing it—or even kind of forgot about it. Just a few days ago, I saw Friends’ official post marking the one-year anniversary of Matthew’s passing, and it reminded me of this file sitting on my hard drive. So, on a rainy typhoon day, I spent the entire day doing the final editing and sound work.
I hope Matthew, like Chandler, is no longer feeling alone.
I already uploaded the short, feel free to watch it on my channel.
Before sending Monkey back to JT Studio, I arranged all four characters from the GAKI RACE series together on the set for a photo. It looks spectacular!
Each character and their vehicle are eye-catching with distinctive styles, yet when placed together, the scene is harmonious and nothing feels out of place.
...I just love it so much.
When I shoot animations, I try to keep the number of characters in the frame manageable. Too many characters at once can be overwhelming, so even I am seeing this rare scene for the first time.
