Marsella was never about ticking places off a list. It was just… the middle. The point that made sense for all of us, coming from different places, different lives, different routines.
A few days with extended family — the kind where nothing huge happens, but everything feels important. Long meals that turn into even longer conversations. Walking without a destination. Catching up on life in between coffee stops and sea views.
We didn’t try to do everything. We just tried to be together. And somehow, that made this trip one of those we’ll talk about for a long time.
Grateful for places like Marsella — not because they’re perfect, but because they bring people together 🤍

22 years together. Years of love, growth, laughter, tears, and choosing each other again and again. We’ve changed, evolved, stumbled, and risen—side by side. What started as a spark became a life, a story, a home. Grateful for every chapter we’ve written and excited for all the pages still to come. Happy 22nd anniversary to us. 🤍
Our First Day in Chicago with Kids: A Family Adventure Through the Windy City
Our adventure in Chicago began right in the heart of downtown, where we were staying at Travelodge Downtown Chicago — a perfect base for exploring the city with kids.
After waking up to the energy of the city, we headed straight to Starbucks Reserve Roastery. Not just any coffee shop — this is the largest Starbucks in the world! With four levels of coffee magic, the kids were amazed by the spiraling escalators, fresh pastries, and even the roastery machines in action. We grabbed a cozy corner and enjoyed a slow breakfast, watching the city wake up around us.
Energized and ready to explore, we strolled down the Magnificent Mile. Before hopping on the Chicago River Architectural Boat Tour, we paused by a famous mural — the Angel Wings — and couldn’t resist snapping some dreamy family photos. A perfect Instagram moment!
The boat tour was a hit with the kids. Cruising along the Chicago River, we listened to fascinating stories about the city's skyscrapers while enjoying the breeze and skyline views. It was fun, relaxing, and educational — a rare combo when traveling with little ones!
Next up, we headed toward Crown Fountain in Millennium Park. The kids loved watching the giant digital faces spit water from the screens — pure joy on a hot day. They kicked off their shoes and splashed around while we soaked up the playful atmosphere.
For lunch, we made a practical and fresh stop at Whole Foods. It was the perfect place to recharge with a variety of food options for everyone (including picky eaters!).
In the afternoon, we took our day to new heights — literally — at Skydeck Chicago. The elevator ride was thrilling, and stepping out onto The Ledge, a glass box hanging over the city, was unforgettable! The kids were half-scared, half-excited — and fully proud after conquering their fears!
Before calling it a night, we made one last stop back at Crown Fountain. The evening light gave it a whole new vibe, and the kids weren’t ready to say goodbye just yet.
And for dinner? We kept it simple and classic: hot pizza slices from 7/11.
