I recently visited Mitongwe Woodlands Reserve where I met Dan Schat, and what I learned completely changed how I see farming.
On just a 50m x 50m plot, they are restoring soil, growing food, and doing it all without chemical fertilizers.
This is not just farming… this is the future 🌍

We celebrated my wife’s birthday at Chalo Villas and Farms and it was such a beautiful experience. 🎉❤️
They surprised us with a lovely picnic, and I also got the chance to tour their restaurant, The Harvest Table. I went behind the scenes to see the dining area, kitchen, and even the restrooms so you can see how everything looks.
Sometimes we travel far looking for experiences, but we also have amazing places like this right here in Malawi. 🇲🇼
For those of you in the diaspora, would you visit a place like this when you come back home?

Diaspora family, this one is for you 🇲🇼
We visited Chalo Villas and Farms and they surprised my wife with a complimentary birthday picnic lunch. We enjoyed nsima, vegetables, and a glass of Merlot wine in a beautiful setting.
This is one of those places in Malawi that many people in the diaspora would really appreciate visiting when they come back home.
Malawi has some amazing hidden gems.

Today I harvested pumpkin and eggplants from our urban permaculture backyard garden 🌱
It’s amazing to see the progress the garden is making. What started as a small idea is slowly becoming a productive food space right in the city.
I also moved the two fish I am raising into the workshop and shared a small update about them in the video.
For those in the diaspora thinking about growing food back home or starting a small farm, this journey shows that even a small backyard can produce food.

We travelled to Chipata, Zambia to meet an inspiring entrepreneur who returned from the diaspora to invest back home. 🇿🇲
He built Ku Hide Out Resort, a peaceful getaway just outside Chipata. During our visit he gave us a tour of the resort and even organised a great barbecue for us.
