The Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East (formerly the Harvard Semitic Museum) houses over 40,000 Near Eastern artifacts, most of which derive from museum-sponsored excavations in Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Syria, and Tunisia.
