Guess who nearly died today? Me.

How? Read all about it on my Twitter. I am so happy to still be here... you don't know.

Hey everyone, sorry some of you may have heard already or you are left wondering what is happening. I heard about it weeks ago on July 2nd that Shapeways is going bankrupt. This came as a shock to me as it did to all of you as this pretty much spells the end for my store as it is.

But please, don't despair as I am looking into options to solve this problem. This mainly requires a restructuring of my models to better print using my own at home printers, as well as figuring out a method of distribution of models to customers.

There is a catch though as not all of my models will be available for sale as I do not own SLS printers like Shapeways had. SLS printers use powder that is cured using lasers and is comparable to Shapeways' originally cheapest material that has the sandy finish and is pretty strong. This kind of printer is my best choice as it allows printing items without the use and waste of support material during the printing process, which is perfect for underhangs and fragile parts like the brake assemblies on rolling stock like trucks and vans. However, with a price tag of $22,000 for the printer alone (not including the raw material -ie powder-, and possible other equipment) this is not a wise choice to invest in at this moment.

Printer types aside, I'll need to redesign some of my models to print better using the printers I already have (Elegoo Saturn & Prusa Mini) as the materials have their own limitations. Elegoo uses resin, which is great for small capsule figures but it shatters and bigger models tend to warp during printing and curing. Prusa's filament printers make for strong material, but support material is a pain to remove, and the orientation of the layers affects the strength of the print.

This will take some time, but I'll figure out a solution. Please keep an eye out for updates to the situation here on YouTube and on my Twitter page.

HEYA EVERYONE!
So recently, TheUnluckyTug's channel got nerfed by Youtube being Youtube (aka being run by bots who act like "we told you the rules, you should know them all by heart so hahahaha if you screw up once cause we hate you really").

Thankfully he's still trying to make a come back. See his video here. He explains everything.
