Story of sun temple π π€οΈβοΈ
It was built in the 13th century by King Narasimhadeva I and is dedicated to the Sun God (Surya). The temple is designed like a massive chariot, with 24 intricately carved wheels and 7 horses pulling it.
According to legend, the construction of the temple could not be completed. Then a 12-year-old boy named Dharmapada solved the final architectural problem and made it complete. However, fearing that the workers might be punished because of him, he sacrificed his life.
So, the temple is not just an architectural marvel, but also a symbol of devotion and sacrifice.
