The children of Israel despite their desire to be free from the slavery of Egypt, were clearly not ready to be free from the conveniences that were there. Before them we have the example of Lot's wife, who despite her being brought out of the judgment that awaited the sinful city she simply couldn't bring herself to move forward without looking back. Caught between the world that was perishing amidst the deliverance into the land of security.
As we see the events of scripture continue to play out in our world Charlie builds in this teaching an understanding as to what role those who came out with Israel played in Israel's challenge. He then ties together what we will need to be ready for the Greater Exodus that scripture has prophesied is in our future. As we wrap up Joseph's story we are opening up an opportunity for those who have questions to ask during our next Saturday teaching.
