Shedding What No Longer Fits Me
The Year of the Snake is quietly coming to a close.
The Year of the Horse is preparing to move.
This space in between matters.
It is where the body tells the truth.
What feels heavy.
What feels complete.
What is ready to come with you and what is not.
That is why this blog is opening again now.
Not to rush forward.
Not to fix anything.
But to pause, notice and make room.
A small celebration for you
To honor the end of the Snake year and the beginning of Horse energy, I created a playful little gift for you right here.
No pressure.
No labels.
Just curiosity.

A Gentle Ending, A Beautiful Beginning
As this year comes to a close, I’ve been sitting with the feeling of completion, not the rushed kind, but the quiet kind.
The kind that says, something meaningful happened here, even if we don’t have words for all of it yet.
This final Sunday of the year feels less like an ending and more like a soft pause between breaths.
A moment to look back with kindness and forward with curiosity.
It's not about asking ourselves to be better, faster or more resolved, but seeking to be just more present.
Over these past months of blog reflections, I’ve loved showing up here with you. I love writing, it's a place of listening for me.
Listening and truly hearing my own body wisdom, the rhythms of rest and awareness.
In 2026, we invite you to create more space to feel, to pause, to live...
This isn’t about doing less, it’s about noticing what feels true to you, truly you.
So let it 2025 close gently.
And as the new one opens, let it open wonderfully, not with pressure, but with curiosity and possibility.
Hands caressing your body, noticing.
Breathe slow and easy.
Gently hugging yourself.
Thank you for being here this year. We look forward to meeting you again.
Happy Old Yeah,
Shakti B

6 Everyday Shower Secrets No One Ever Told You
December 21st Winter Solstice
Part 6: Rest Is Where Renewal Begins
On the longest night of the year, rest is not optional, it’s essential.
At the end of your sacred shower ritual, your body is warm and relaxed. You’ve lovingly rubbed oil into your skin, sealing in care and presence.
Now, pause.
Rest for just five minutes. Let the water, the oils, and the ritual settle into your body. No phone. No doing. Just rest.
If your body asks for more than five minutes, listen.
On the winter solstice, the longest night of the year, nature reminds us that rest is not something we earn. It’s something we remember.
When you allow yourself to rest, you reclaim your rhythm, your nervous system steadies and your body receives the message that it is safe to soften.
Receive your gifts in this pause. Allow your natural talents, clarity and creativity to surface without force.
Rest is how what’s already within you finds space to emerge.
Self-care isn’t selfish.
It’s sacred.
Most healing doesn’t live outside of you.
Sometimes it’s waiting in the stillness after your shower.

Part 4: Exfoliate & Dry with Intention (Feet to Waist, Head to Waist)
Don’t skip the dry off, it’s not just about getting warm. It’s your final round of circulation stimulation.
After you shower: Use a soft towel and gently rub from your feet up to your waist.
Then from your head down to your waist.
For your back and shoulders, grab both ends of the towel (right hand on right side, left on left),
Place it behind your neck and move it side to side in a massaging action.
Let your body guide you. Linger in the places that need a little more love.
🔴 Your skin might appear reddish, that’s good!
That’s blood rushing to the surface, bringing oxygen and nutrients to your cells.
That’s prana. That's vital life force energy. That’s healing.
We continue with part five next week.
Curious why we always say feet to waist and head to waist when drying off?

6 Everyday Shower Secrets No One Ever Told You
Part 2: The Surprise Spot That Supports Your Immunity
There is a tiny spot on your body that responds beautifully to gentle touch.
It helps your whole system feel lighter and more supported.
Almost no one teaches this.
Your armpits are not just skin folds. They are lymphatic highways that help your body clear waste, support immunity and keep fluid moving.
This simple shower ritual gives them the attention they deserve.
While showering lift one arm and place your fingertips under your armpit.
Check first for lumps, bruises, pain if so, consult your doctor
If it's clear:
Make three light counterclockwise circles.
Think of it as soothing a tiny itch.
Soft. Slow. Kind.
Repaet of the other side and that's it!
This gentle motion helps wake up lymph flow and supports a clearer, more energized feeling through your chest, shoulders and belly.
It is small but powerful.
If you feel swelling, lumps or pain skip this step and speak with your doctor.
Always listen to your body.

Your Daily Shower Just Became Your Self Care Gem: Part 1
You shower almost every day so why not turn that simple habit into a powerful self care ritual.
This can support whole body vitality, your health and your nervous system all at the same time?
No Spa needed. You already have everything you need in your bathroom.
Your body. Your breath. Your intention…
“6 Everyday Shower Secrets No One Ever Told You.”
These gentle practices help you refresh, rejuvenate and reconnect with yourself in a way that feels good from the inside out.
Let's begin.
Part 1
A Gentle Whole Body Wake Up Ritual
Start your ritual with tiny circular motions that feel like soft loving itches created by your fingertips.
These little circles wake up your skin the same way a dry brush would do but with warmth, care and presence.
They lightly exfoliate.
They stimulate circulation.
They nourish your skin.
They send gentle signals to your nervous system.
Begin your circles: From your feet upward to your waist.
Then from your head downward to your waist.
Let your scalp enjoy extra attention. These tiny circles can feel surprisingly invigorating.
They help wake up your brain and energize your senses.
When your hands reach your belly, move in slow circles from right to left.
This gentle direction follows the natural rhythm of digestion and helps your organs feel supported, soothed and seen.
Speak kindly to your body as you touch it. The body responds to tenderness faster than anything else.
This simple beginning sets the tone for your entire shower ritual.
It is grounding. It is awakening.
It is yours.
Tune in for the next part of this series.

What is Normal Weight Obesity?
When the Outside Looks Fine, But the Inside’s Waving a Flag.
You’ve probably heard of BMI, that little number doctors, personal trainers and others use to decide if you’re underweight, normal, overweight or obese.
Well, guess what?
BMI is kind of like a selfie with a filter. It looks okay on the surface, but doesn’t tell the full truth.
Let’s break it down Know Thy Body style:
👀 What is “Normal Weight Obesity”?
This is when someone has a “normal” BMI, meaning their height and weight seem balanced on paper, but they still carry too much body fat, especially around the belly.
We’re talking:
Slim arms and legs...
Maybe a flat-ish look in clothes...
But soft around the middle, low muscle, low energy, weird digestion.
We've mentioned it before, that inner belly fat is called visceral fat and it’s sneaky.
It wraps around your organs, throws off your hormones and increases your risk for things like diabetes, heart disease and insulin resistance.
So yeah, you can be “normal weight” and still have internal chaos brewing.
So… is BMI legit?
Honestly? Not anymore.
BMI doesn’t:
~Measure body fat
~Know the difference between muscle and fluff
~See your habits, hormones or health history
~Tell you how your belly is really feeling
Think of it like this:
BMI is like grading your health based on your shoe size. Cute? Maybe. Useful? Not really!
Know Thy Body Wisdom Says...
Health isn’t a number.
It’s a feeling. It’s balance.
It’s how well you poop (yep, we said it), how deep you sleep, how your body bounces back and how your belly feels after you eat.
We don’t chase skinny.
We inspire glow.
We learn to follow our body's signals.
We nourish from the inside out.
Because that soft belly you’re ignoring?
She’s got stories. She’s got needs.
And babygirl, she’s got wisdom.
So next time someone says, “But your weight looks fine…”
You can smile, sip your green juice, and think to yourself:
“Health isn’t skin-deep. My body knows better.”
