According to a family member of the MT Honour 25 crew, fake donation drives are being circulated on social media in the name of supporting the Pakistani crew members of the MT Honour 25 ship, which was hijacked off the coast of Somalia.

The family strongly clarified that no such official or family-run fundraising campaign exists, and any appeals for donations are completely fraudulent.

They urged the public not to send money to any unknown links or individuals claiming to collect funds for the crew, as these scams are exploiting a sensitive situation.

The families requested people to stay alert, report suspicious posts, and rely only on verified official sources for updates.

They also appealed for prayers for the safe recovery of the crew members, emphasizing that all official matters are being handled through proper government and international channels.

At least 10 people have died in Karachi as an intense heatwave gripped the city, with temperatures soaring to 44.1°C, the highest recorded this year, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

Rescue officials from Edhi Foundation and Chhipa Welfare Association reported that several bodies were recovered from different parts of the city, including Manghopir, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Defence Phase VIII, Boat Basin, Liaquatabad, Surjani Town, Baldia Town, North Karachi, Mauripur Road, and the Superhighway. Some victims were pronounced dead after being shifted to hospitals.
Authorities said a number of the deaths are suspected to be linked to heatstroke, while others involved drug users, many of whom remain unidentified.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department stated that hot and humid weather conditions are likely to persist, with strong continental winds intensifying the heat, raising concerns for public health across Karachi. Residents have been advised to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary outdoor exposure, and take precautionary measures during the ongoing heatwave.
