Small Biz Thoughts is my brand for educational (and just plain fun) materials focused on computer consultants, technical professionals, and all IT Service Providers who support small and medium sized businesses.
The "small business" or "SMB" market really is a specialized market. When I talk to people selling solutions into larger companies, the problems are very different. The scale of the solution is different. The politics of getting a proposal approved is different! In the SMB space, everything is more personal and MORE IMPORTANT. That's right - more important.
When a large company makes a bad decision that costs $50,000 no one is happy. But when a small business makes a $50K mistake, it could be devastating. That's because that money goes straight to the small business owner's bottom line. And that's why professional technical consultants are so important. If we can save a small business a few thousand dollars a year, that's a few thousand the business owner gets to keep!
