Prostate Cancer Ironman
Hi, I'm Alistair, 62 years old and living with T4 incurable Prostate Cancer.
I had my prostate removed in February but in July, the cancer had spread so chemo until December. My condition is life-limiting so my prognosis is not so great but I remain really positive about the future.
So why am creating Vlogs.
1) Early diagnosis of prostate cancer is eminently curable. If I can encourage men, particularly in their 50’s to get a PSA test EARLY and INSIST on it, I’ll be very pleased.
2) I want to try, despite my condition, to become an IRONMAN. I’ve done smaller Triathlons before but am by no means an “athlete”. I hope it inspires others who are also having difficult situations in their lives to achieve something, to “just give it a go!!”
I hope I can help to raise some money and publicity for Prostate Cancer UK research to help find cures for this silent, deadly illness.
I look forward to sharing my journey.
