One definition for being a faithful servant, according to the Bible, is to be a devoted and helpful follower, to be humble before God, to be ready to act as God nudges and inspires us, to help meet the needs of other people, and to remember that it is not about money or reward. How can we be a good servant of God and people? 1 – Put God and his kingdom first, be connected with him every day through prayer. 2 – Serving God and people with love, dedication, devotion and passion. 3 – Working tireless for God's kingdom. Having a servant's heart means to not only put other's needs ahead of our own, but to serve with the right motivation—and that is to put God's will first. Rewards, recognition or even gratitude cannot be the motivation to live out true servanthood the way Jesus did. Christians have typically seen the servant in individual terms and associated clearly with Jesus — his life and ministry, but especially his death and resurrection.
