Hi! I am Dr. Alison Parker, Ph.D., a Private Practice Literacy Coach and Reading Specialist from Brooklyn, New York. I coach mothers by offering strategies, tools, & services to help you teach your child to read accurately, fluently, & independently!

Since 2012, I have owned Purposeful Learning Academy, a tutoring center where I provide online and in-person tutoring for struggling readers and dyslexic children. My career has spanned over 25 years as a classroom teacher and literacy coach.

School systems are struggling to teach our most vulnerable children: students with IEPs/in Special education/with dyslexia. Children get stuck on tricky words and do not know how to decode them.
