Forgotten Icons Garage (FIG) is a Tampa, FL based, veteran owned project focused on the generation of superbikes that permanently changed performance. It centers on the introduction of the EFI liter bikes in the early 2000s.
When electronic fuel injection became standard, so did real tuning. Fuel mapping, throttle response, torque delivery, and power could now be adjusted in ways that weren’t possible before. Performance quickly outpaced the rider aids developed to manage it.
These bikes were mechanically raw and still heavily dependent on rider input. Power was immediate, and so were mistakes. For my generation of riders, this was the era that defined what a superbike felt like. Today, for a few thousand dollars, you can buy 160 horsepower to the wheel and it will be raw and unforgiving. And that's the point.
At FIG, we ride and document that turning point, not as collectibles, but as motorcycles meant to be used.
