DoIT&C Government of Rajasthan

Much before the era when IT became a buzzword in 1987, the State Government established a Directorate of Computers, headed by an officer from the Indian Administrative Services cadre, with objectives ranging from formulating the policies & creating awareness to provide technical consultancy to the State Government Departments for computerization. A separate cadre comprising computer professionals System Analysts, Analyst-cum-Programmers, Programmers, Computer Operators and Data Entry Operators was specially created to implement computerization projects.

Thereafter in the year 1992, the Department was renamed as Department of Information Technology. In the year 2001, the Department was rechristened as Department of Information Technology & Communication.
