MIUI software is slowly catching up to the smoothness of the $1000 dollar plus smartphones

I'm an ex-Xiaomi distributor and phone servicing specialist and I would highly advise you guys to stay away from the Redmi series, if you can. The screens they use on the Redmi series (LCD) are absolute trash from a hardware standpoint. 4 out of 10 devices will experience ghost touches and unresponsiveness in 2-6 months. The devices will slow down after time due to either software and or most likely to B-grade hardware that are very sensitive to weather changes (exception are the SoC). Fyi B-grade hardware is considered to be faulty (not meeting the required standards) by most chip and electronic device manufacturers. So if your Xiaomi phone becomes slow and doesn't behave well during weather changes (ex: the end of spring or beginning of winter during seasons) it's due to that. Let me know if you have any questions.
